Now that I have completed this pictorial, archaeological and historical walk through the Bible my work done?
I can write pages of how Jesus has changed my life. How He changed a literally stupid boy, a convict, a drug addict, an alcoholic, and violent person into trustworthy and safe person.
Actually I did write it down in my eBook, “Where Will You Spend Eternity: Heaven or Hell?” And yes, the Holy Ghost helped me write that, along with my testimony, “Jerry: A Gracious Gift From God.”
I’m not a preacher or Mother Teresa or anything like that, I still distrust cops, politicians and our entire government, but I’m no longer the arrogant, selfish, greedy person trying to become king of the hill.
Revelation 22 The Water and the Tree of Life and the End
1 And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.
2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
3 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:
4 And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.
“They shall see his face” – an idiom for “have an audience” with the king in ancient times criminals were banished from the presence of the king (Est 7:8; cf. 2 Sam 14:24).
One blessing of eternity will be to see the Lord face-to-face (cf. 1 Cor 13:12).
5 And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.
6 And he said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to shew unto his servants the things which must shortly be done.
7 Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.
8 And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things.
9 Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellow servant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God.
10 And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand.
11 He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.
“Unjust, let him be unjust still” – this verse speaks of the stability of the eternal state – both for the wicked and the righteous.
12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.
“Dogs” – a term applied to all types of ceremonially impure persons. In Deut 23:18 it designates a male prostitute.
16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.
“Bright and morning star” – these are Messianic titles applied to Jesus Christ. See Num 24:17.
17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.
22:18-19 – cf. the commands in Deut 4:2, 12:32. The warning here relates specifically to the book of Revelation.
“Grace” – the New Testament begins with Jesus Christ (Matt 1:1) and ends with an expression of His grace. Throughout, He is the subject.
The New Testament begins with the fact of His first coming and ends with the promise of His second.
18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
If My People…
by Richard White
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land (2 Chr 7:14).
The sentence, as it continues, forms what is probably the best known and most loved verse in all Chronicles. It expresses, as does no other passage in the Bible, the stipulations that God lays down for a nation to experience his blessing, whether that nation be Solomon’s, Ezra’s, or our own.
Those who have been chosen to be His people must cease from their sins, turn from living lives of proud self-centeredness, pray to the Lord, and yield their desires to his Word and his will.
The subject “His chosen people” has been debated for centuries.
In the beginning, the Jews were His chosen people, but they were (and still are) so horrible that Jesus had to come to save the world. Today anyone that believes in Jesus is God’s chosen people.
“There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus” (Gal 3:28).
Some people also believe that God has chosen some people to live and others to burn in hell. I don’t think that because it just doesn’t make since why He would do that, besides as the Bible says,
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (Jn 3:16).
Therefore I believe anyone can be saved, but God does choose certain people to do special things, like He did with Abraham, Moses, Paul, etc.
I also believe that God will guide any believer to do something for Him, as I am doing this blog for Him.
This has taken me over three years to complete, but know that Jesus did not say do this and let me know when you get it finished. He has been with me all the way.
There have been a couple times I was ready to quit, but He kept me going. Jesus will never let you down, nor ever leave you.
Our situation in this nation cannot be solved by human means, we need Divine intervention to bring this country back to being a God-fearing, Christian nation.
Jesus tells us that without Him we can do nothing.
“I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing” (Jn 15:5).
God tells the Nation of Israel and us that apart from Him we have No Savior (Is 43:11), No God (Is 44:6), and that there is no God apart from Him (Is 45:5, 21). But this is getting ahead of ourselves.
If My People…
What are we called to do?
Stop being so full of ourselves and realize that whatever we have, we have because of God and not of ourselves.
God will visit when his people reach a point of desperation. When we surrender that pride, the idea that we can do pretty good on our own, and we get down on our knees and admit things are not as they should be, then God will come to His people.
It is calling us to come down to earth so to speak. To humble ourselves is to recognize God for who he is.
It reminds me of a line I heard in the movie “Rudy.”
The priest tells Rudy, in all my years I have learned two things, there is God, and I am not Him. The blessings we have are not because of us, but because of God. Humble ourselves, bring ourselves low and exalt GOD.
Seek His Face
That is to come before Him to seek what His will is in any and every situation. We read His word and do what it says not what we think it says. To seek His face is to desire an audience with Him.
In 1857 there was a 46 year old man named Jeremiah Lamphere who lived in New York City. Jeremiah loved the Lord tremendously, but he didn’t feel that he could do much for the Lord until he began to feel a burden for the lost and accepted an invitation from his church to be an inner city missionary.
So in July of 1857 he started walking up and down the streets of New York passing out tracts and talking to people about Jesus, but he wasn’t having any success.
Then God put it on his heart to try prayer. So he printed up a bunch of tracts, and he passed them out to anyone and everyone met.
He invited anyone who wanted to come to the 3rd floor of the Old North Dutch Reform Church on Fulton St. in New York City from 12 to 1 on Wednesday to pray.
He passed out hundreds and hundreds of fliers and put up posters everywhere he could. Wednesday came and at noon nobody showed up.
So Jeremiah got on his knees and started praying. For 30 minutes he prayed by himself when finally five other people walked in.
The next week 20 people came. The next week between 30 and 40 people came. They then decided to meet every day from 12:00 to 1:00 to pray for the city.
Before long a few ministers started coming and they said, “We need to start this at our churches.” Within six months there were over 5000 prayer groups meeting every day in New York.
Soon the word spread all over the country. Prayer meetings were started in Philadelphia, Detroit, and Washington D.C.
In fact President Franklin Pierce started going almost every day to a noonday prayer meeting.
By 1859 some 15,000 cities in America were having downtown prayer meetings every day at noon and thousands were brought to Christ.
The great thing about this revival is that there is not a famous preacher associated with it. It was all started by one man wanting to pray.
See only God can start a revival and God is quite clear about what He expects before He will return to His people.
Are we willing to do His will, not yours?
I think most people today are pretty satisfied with the state of the church. Do you think that the church in America today is pretty healthy? Does the Church seek His Face?
Turn From Your Wicked Ways
Does the Church speak out against sin? Does the Church call sin a sin? It is not that the Bible has to change to society, it is that society must change its ways to conform with the Bible, nothing less will do.
This is repentance, it is a turning and changing. Some change happens slow, remember some of our habits have taken years to develop, the idea is moving toward that end.
It is moving closer to God and His ways. Some of us are still stuck where we were just before coming to Christ.
Time to get up and get moving harder, striving more and more to be Christ like, just as the name we wear says.
This is the most awesome command. We are to pray. We seek His face, we turn from our evil ways and we pray. What is our prayer life like?
Wayne Watson wrote a song “When God’s people pray” he says “we take the pains of earth to the doors of heaven. When we pray things happen, miracles we cannot explain away.
When the Church prayed things happened. (all verses come from Acts)
1. Peter and John had the courage to challenge the Sanhedrin Chapter 4. 2. The Church w as added to daily Chapter 2, 5. 3. Peter was freed from prison (Chapter 12).
In I Thess 5:17 Paul doesn’t say sing without ceasing, or fellowship without ceasing or even preach without ceasing.
He said, “Pray without ceasing.” That’s revival praying! In Lk 11:1, the disciples said to Jesus, “Teach us to pray.” Notice they did not say, “Lord, teach us what to say.”
Rather I think they were saying, “Lord teach us how to pray, to pray like you do.”
Miracles happened, revival happened and the Church grew.
Let me close with a great story.
I started by telling you about the great prayer revival of 1857. It moved from New York to Detroit, Buffalo, Washington D.C. and it moved to Philadelphia in a powerful way.
One of the leaders in Philadelphia was a young man named Dudley Ting. He started a noonday prayer meeting at the YMCA, and some days 5000 people would come at noon and pray.
One day Dudley stood up and he read Ex 10:11, “Go ye that are men and serve the Lord.” He then said, “I had rather my right arm cut off than not give you that word.”
Later that week Dudley went out into the country to see some friends. While in a barn at his friend’s place he got his arm caught in a corn threshing machine and the main artery in his arm was severed.
They took him to a bed and tried to save his life but he had lost too much blood. So his friends gathered around him and asked him what he would like to say.
He said, “Tell them to stand up for Jesus.” So the next Sunday his good friend George Duffield stood up at church and preached in memory of his friend.
He said, “I just finished writing a poem in honor of Dudley and I want to read it to you.”
Stand up, Stand up for Jesus, ye solders of the cross. Lift high His royal banner, it must not suffer loss. From victory unto victory His army shall He lead, till every foe is vanquished, for Christ is Lord in deed.
Stand up, Stand up for Jesus, the trumpet call obey. Forth to the mighty conflict in this His glorious day. Ye that are men now serve Him, against unnumbered foes. Let courage rise with danger and strength to strength oppose.
Stand up stand up for Jesus, the strife will not be long. This day the noise of battle, the next the victor’s song. To him that overcometh a crown of life shall be, he with the king of glory shall reign eternally.
All across America, city after city people would meet for one day and pray for their country, and sing Stand up Stand up for Jesus.
It’s time to decide if we want to do business with God or with man?
I hope this has been helpful and this site will always be on line and free because Jesus is free. Thank you for reading it.
Many say that since God is a loving God He won’t cast anyone into hell. Anyone that believes that should run for office.
Would it be okay with you if someone killed your child, or even just hurt them? What would you do?
Would you say, well, they’re not really mean, they were just having a bad day so we’ll ignore that little problem? And then you can invite them over for dinner.
People think that God is not a person, He’s just God. Remember, God created us to be just like Him:
“And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness…” (Gen 1:26).
The emotions we have are the same ones that God has. The only difference between God and us is that we can’t handle the emotions.
Satan will either put an idea in our minds or just throw the idea out for the world to view and sure enough, our greedy little minds snatch it up as quick as possible.
So I ask you, “Would you trust a lying cheat babysit your child?”
Many people have this foolish idea that we have to go through hoops to please God in order to be saved.
Whoever started that ridiculous rumor must have been a democrat. I want to remove that lie from anyone’s mind so tomorrow we will look at…
Revelation 21 The New Jerusalem
1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
21:2-22:5 – The “holy city combines elements of Jerusalem, the temple and the Garden of Eden.
3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
“He that overcometh” – cf. the emphasis on overcoming in the seven letters (2:17, 11, 17, 26, 3:5, 12, 21).
8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
“Sorcerers” – Cf. Acts 19:19. The magical tradition in ancient times called for the mixing of various herbs toward of evil, which includes today’s narcotics.
9 And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb’s wife.
10 And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,
11 Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;
12 And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:
“Twelve gates” – see Eze 48:30-35. The number 12 comes from the 12 tribes of Israel, the Old Testament people of God.
See v. 14, where the 12 foundations bear the names of the 12 apostles. Twelve apostles were chose to rule over the 12 tribes of Israel (Matt 19:28).
13 On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates.
14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
15 And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof.
“Measure the city” – Cf. Eze 40-41. In Rev 11 the measuring was to ensure protection; here it serves to show the size and symmetry of the eternal dwelling place of the faithful.
16 And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal.
“Twelve thousand furlongs” – this is a cube of about 1,500 miles square. This city may sit on the earth, in the earth, or be suspended in space near the earth.
“Length and the breadth of the height” – thus a perfect cube, as was the most holy place of the tabernacle and the temple.
17 And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel.
18 And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass.
19 And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald;
20 The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst.
The precise identification of some of these precious ston es is uncertain.
21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.
22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.
23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.
24 And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honor into it.
25 And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.
26 And they shall bring the glory and honor of the nations into it.
27 And there shall in no wise enter into it anything that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.
“Lamb’s book of life” – see note on 3:5.
Are You Saved?
This is not a theory or an ideal or a concept of some sort, but a very simple fact. It does not take a rocket scientist to understand this, but then again you must be smarter than the average fool (ouch, that leaves most politicians in the dark).
What a horrifying reality to think you will enter paradise on the day of your death, but then come to find out on that day you were actually deceived and you find yourself in hell.
Such is, and will be, the terror of most who call themselves Christians today.
“Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity” (Matt 7:21-23).
“Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it” (Matt 7:13-14).
“Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able” (Lk 13:24).
“And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of” (2 Peter 2:2).
They will find themselves weeping and gnashing their teeth (e.g. Matt 8:12; 22:1-14; 25;14-30; Lk 13:28).
All of the world’s religions (e.g. Protestantism, Catholicism, Mormonism, JW’s, Seventh Day Adventism, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, Atheism, most Christians, etc.) lead to nowhere but hell.
“Those involved in them are “unbelieving. . .idolaters” (Rev 21:8).
Every single last one of them reject the truth of the Bible.
“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and four-footed beasts, and creeping things.
Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves:
Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen” (Rom 1:18-25).
And thus, the Truth of the Bible, God (Jn 14:6), will burn them forever in the lake of fire for hating Him so (Deut 32:39-41; Rev 20:11-15).
If you are involved with the kind of “Christianity” that views Protestantism, or Catholicism, or the Orthodox church, or the “church of Christ,” or Billy Graham, or Rick Warren, or Oprah Winfrey, or Rhonda Byrne or any of the like as godly, you are not saved.
You cannot be a partial-Christian, it’s all or nothing with God.
“Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord’s table, and of the table of devils” (1 Cor 10:21).
As I had said yesterday, I’m not that keen on politics, but I’m not an idiot either (if I was I’d work in D.C.) so I can certainly understand the below article.
Or at least what I think Ron Paul is saying is that we need to fire most people that are in the White House and Congress and start all over again, start with people that are true Americans, people that follow Jesus, like President Trump.
There are only two more chapters of the Bible so tomorrow I want to talk about the most important matter in everyone’s life. You need to take a close look at yourself and ask…
Revelation 20 The Millennial Regin, the Loosing of Satan, and the Great White Throne
1 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.
20:1-22:21 – These last three chapters reflect many of the subjects and themes of the first three chapters of Genesis.
“Bottomless pit” – Greek abyss.
2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
“Thousand years” – the millennium (from the Latin mille, “thousand,” and annus, “year”).
It is taken literally by some as 1,000 actual years, while others interpret it metaphorically as a long but underdetermined period of time.
There are three basic approaches to the subject of the millennium:
1. Amillennialism: The millennium describes the present reign of the souls of deceased believers with Christ in heaven.
2. Premillennialsim: The present form of God’s kingdom is moving toward a grand climax when Christ will return to establish His kingdom is moving toward a grand climax when Christ will return to establish His kingdom in a literal, visible reign of peace and righteousness on the earth.
3. Postmillennialism: The world will eventually be Christianized, resulting in a long period of peace and prosperity called the millennium.
This future period will close with Christ’s second coming, the resurrection of the dead, the final judgment and the eternal state.
The context favors the second view. The 1,000 years are mentioned six times, and there is every reason to take them literally, not allegorically.
3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.
4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and Judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
“Souls of them that were beheaded” – this seems to be the souls of all those believers who died in the tribulation.
“The lived” – the first resurrection.
5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.
“Rest of the dead” – the wicked, referring to all unsaved dead from Cain onward. They will not be raised until after the millennial reign of Christ.
6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
“Second death” – defined in v. 14 as the “lake of fire.”
7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,
8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.
“Gog and Magog” – symbolize the nations of the world as they band together for a final assault on God. The Old Testament background is Eze 38-39.
9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.
10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were Judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
“Judged…according to their works” – the principle of judgment on the basis of works is taught in Ps 62:12; Jer 17:10; Rom 2:6; 1 Pet 1:17 and elsewhere.
13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were Judged every man according to their works.
14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
Democracy Is Not Freedom
by Rep. Ron Paul, MD
…man is not free unless government is limited. There’s a clear cause and effect here that is as neat and predictable as a law of physics: As government expands, liberty contracts. ~ Ronald Reagan
We’ve all heard the words democracy and freedom used countless times, especially in the context of our invasion of Iraq.
They are used interchangeably in modern political discourse, yet their true meanings are very different.
George Orwell wrote about “meaningless words” that are endlessly repeated in the political arena.
Words like “freedom,” “democracy,” and “justice,” Orwell explained, have been abused so long that their original meanings have been eviscerated.
In Orwell’s view, political words were “Often used in a consciously dishonest way.” Without precise meanings behind words, politicians and elites can obscure reality and condition people to reflexively associate certain words with positive or negative perceptions.
In other words, unpleasant facts can be hidden behind purposely meaningless language. As a result, Americans have been conditioned to accept the word “democracy” as a synonym for freedom, and thus to believe that democracy is unquestionably good.
The problem is that democracy is not freedom.
Democracy is simply majoritarianism, which is inherently incompatible with real freedom.
Our founding fathers clearly understood this, as evidenced not only by our republican constitutional system, but also by their writings in the Federalist Papers and elsewhere.
James Madison cautioned that under a democratic government, “There is nothing to check the inducement to sacrifice the weaker party or the obnoxious individual.”
John Adams argued that democracies merely grant revocable rights to citizens depending on the whims of the masses, while a republic exists to secure and protect preexisting rights.
Yet how many Americans know that the word “democracy” is found neither in the Constitution nor the Declaration of Independence, our very founding documents? A truly democratic election in Iraq, without U.S. interference and U.S. puppet candidates, almost certainly would result in the creation of a Shiite theocracy.
Shiite majority rule in Iraq might well mean the complete political, economic, and social subjugation of the minority Kurd and Sunni Arab populations. Such an outcome would be democratic, but would it be free?
Would the Kurds and Sunnis consider themselves free?
The administration talks about democracy in Iraq, but is it prepared to accept a democratically-elected Iraqi government no matter what its attitude toward the U.S. occupation? Hardly.
For all our talk a bout freedom and democracy, the truth is we have no idea whether Iraqis will be free in the future.
They’re certainly not free while a foreign army occupies their country. The real test is not whether Iraq adopts a democratic, pro-western government, but rather whether ordinary Iraqis can lead their personal, religious, social, and business lives without interference from government.
Simply put, freedom is the absence of government coercion.
Our Founding Fathers understood this, and created the least coercive government in the history of the world.
The Constitution established a very limited, decentralized government to provide national defense and little else.
States, not the federal government, were charged with protecting individuals against criminal force and fraud.
For the first time, a government was created solely to protect the rights, liberties, and property of its citizens.
Any government coercion beyond that necessary to secure those rights was forbidden, both through the Bill of Rights and the doctrine of strictly enumerated powers.
This reflected the founders’ belief that democratic government could be as tyrannical as any King.
Few Americans understand that all government action is inherently coercive. If nothing else, government action requires taxes.
If taxes were freely paid, they wouldn’t be called taxes, they’d be called donations. If we intend to use the word freedom in an honest way, we should have the simple integrity to give it real meaning: Freedom is living without government coercion.
So when a politician talks about freedom for this group or that, ask yourself whether he is advocating more government action or less.
The political left equates freedom with liberation from material wants, always via a large and benevolent government that exists to create equality on earth.
To modern liberals, men are free only when the laws of economics and scarcity are suspended, the landlord is rebuffed, the doctor presents no bill, and groceries are given away.
But philosopher Ayn Rand (and many others before her) demolished this argument by explaining how such “freedom” for some is possible only when government takes freedoms away from others.
In other words, government claims on the lives and property of those who are expected to provide housing, medical care, food, etc. for others are coercive — and thus incompatible with freedom.
“Liberalism,” which once stood for civil, political, and economic liberties, has become a synonym for omnipotent coercive government.
The political right equates freedom with national greatness brought about through military strength.
Like the left, modern conservatives favor an all-powerful central state — but for militarism, corporatism, and faith-based welfarism.
Unlike the Taft-Goldwater conservatives of yesteryear, today’s Republicans are eager to expand government spending, increase the federal police apparatus, and intervene militarily around the world.
The last tenuous links between conservatives and support for smaller government have been severed.
“Conservatism,” which once meant respect for tradition and distrust of active government, has transformed into big-government utopian grandiosity.
Orwell certainly was right about the use of meaningless words in politics.
If we hope to remain free, we must cut through the fog and attach concrete meanings to the words politicians use to deceive us.
We must reassert that America is a republic, not a democracy, and remind ourselves that the Constitution places limits on government that no majority can overrule.
We must resist any use of the word “freedom” to describe state action.
We must reject the current meaningless designations of “liberals” and “conservatives,” in favor of an accurate term for both: statists.
Every politician on earth claims to support freedom. The problem is so few of them understand the simple meaning of the word.
If you read part one and part two below you’ll have both sides of the coin, you can decide what you choose to believe. As yesterday, I still stand undecided because there is no point in deciding. Yet, if I had to decide I would go with this guy because most of what he says in the below article comes from the Bible.
While yesterday’s article was nothing but assumptions built on scripture and world events. No fact is offered.
Yet, I’m not saying that America cannot be Babylon because the Bible does not tell us much about the end time. It does not promote or deny the question. The entire world is going downhill and if America isn’t in first place they are picking up speed.
On a similar note, politics isn’t really my cup of tea, but I do have a side, so tomorrow we’ll look at…
Revelation 19 The Marriage Supper of the Lamb
1 And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honor, and power, unto the Lord our God:
“Alleluia” – occurs four times in vv. 1-6 but nowhere else in the New Testament. It is derived from two Hebrew words meaning “Praise the LORD.”
2 For true and righteous are his Judgments: for he hath Judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand.
3 And again they said, Alleluia. And her smoke rose up for ever and ever.
4 And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshiped God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen; Alleluia.
5 And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great.
6 And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.
7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honor to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.
“Marriage of the Lamb” – the imagery of a wedding to express the intimate relationship between God and His people has its roots in the prophetic literature of the Old Testament (e.g., Is 54:5-7; Hos 2:19). Cf. the New Testament usage (Matt 22:2-14; Eph 5:32).
The fact that this marriage takes place in heaven implies that the church has been raptured previously.
8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.
9 And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.
10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellow servant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth Judge and make war.
“White horse” – probably not the white horse of 6:2. The context here indicates that the rider is Christ returning as Warrior-Messiah-King.
12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.
“Name written” – a secret name whose meaning is veiled from all created beings.
13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
“Vesture dipt in blood” – either the blood of the enemy shed in conflict or the blood of Christ shed to atone for sin.
14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
“Armies…in heaven” – their robes of white indicate this to be the redeemed church – the bride of Christ – returning in triumph with her heavenly Bridegroom.
15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;
“Supper of the great God” – a grim contrast to the “marriage supper” of the lamb.
18 That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.
19 And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.
20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
“Lake of fire burning with brimstone” – punishment by fire is prominent in both Biblical and non-Biblical Jewish writings (e.g., 1 Enoch 54:1).
Although the designation gehenna is not used here, this is what John refers to (see note on Matt 5:22).
Originally the site of a cultic shrine where human sacrifices were offered (2 Kgs 16:3, 23:10; Jer 7:31), it came to be equated with the “hell” of final judgment in apocalyptic literature.
21 And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.
“Fowls were filled with their flesh” – the “supper of the great God’ of vv. 17-18.
Is America Babylon? Part 2 of 2
America Is Not Babylon
by Joseph Chambers
The purity of Holy Scripture is a miracle of miracles. Read any passage in the Bible and then do a little research. You will find clear interpretation for that Scripture. Words that the Spirit used can never be understood properly by pulling a meaning out of the air.
The word “water” when used as a type is always the Word of God. When God says “Jerusalem,” He means the chosen of God. It is either His chosen city or His chosen people.
Babylon is used in the Bible over 295 times. When the Bible says “Mystery Babylon,” He speaks of a religion that has become evil and corrupt because “Babylon” is the seat of Satan.
When He says “Babylon” without a modifying adjective, He means Babylon the city, which was founded by Nimrod.
To try to identify America as Babylon is utterly contrary to Biblical interpretation. Using that kind of method to study the Bible leads to all kinds of misunderstandings. Always let the Bible interpret itself.
Mystery Babylon is clearly the End Time apostasy of false Christianity. The 7th chapter of Revelation is the most noted example.
A harlot woman is another Biblical type of corrupt Christianity. A pure woman represents the pure faith of our Lord. The harlot woman is the opposite.
When you put “Mystery Babylon” with the “harlot woman,” you have a double picture of the utter false religion of the Seven Years of Tribulation.
It is religion at its lowest manifestation in human history. This is the church of the Antichrist.
Revelation chapter 18 is the city of Babylon rebuilt in the Southern part of Iraq. To try to superimpose this chapter into America is contrary to every Biblical principle. There is not one basis for such transliterating of the Holy Bible.
The main reason this is often tried is because our nation has a preponderance of sins. I certainly admit that, but it is not God’s method of understanding the Word of God. What if we did that kind of twisting of all Scripture? Think of the mess it would create with our Bible.
America has got a lot of sins for which we are going to pay. This nation will be subject to all the horrid calamities of the Seven Years of Tribulation.
These calamities are God’s instruments for cleansing the world of abortions, fornications, sodomy, and every unclean lifestyle.
Millions will die and the wicked will learn that sin is always accountable to the Heavenly Father. Before the worst comes, the Saints will be raptured.
But, if the Lord tarries, you may think that the worst has already come even before the Rapture occurs.
Babylon is the city of Babylon and it must be rebuilt to be the capital of the Antichrist Kingdom. It is fitting that his One World Religion that gives him their total worship is called Mystery Babylon.
The unity of the two entities is part of the mystery of wickedness. For the early years of the Seven Years, the Antichrist and his false church will be bosom partners. They will use each other. So, calling one “Babylon” and the other one “Mystery Babylon” is perfect prophecy.
By the end of the Seven Years, the two Babylons will clash and the Antichrist will pour his fury upon Mystery Babylon and burn her with fire.
“And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire” (Rev 17:16).
This truth also destroys the idea that both chapters are talking about Rome as Mystery Babylon.
How could the Antichrist from literal Babylon burn Mystery Babylon if both are the same Babylon?
Again, the Bible leaves little room for misunderstanding if you let Scripture interpret Scripture.
This totally destroys the thought that America is Babylon. The question is an unanswerable one when we try to put America in some cubbyhole of prophecy. Much of the world is unnamed as you study the Bible.
Basically, the Bible’s prophecy picture is a Middle Eastern setting. You may call us an “Isle of the Sea” and that would put us in the Gog and Magog event.
I personally believe that when the army of Russians and Islamic countries march towards Israel, we will either come to Israel’s defense or suffer great destruction in cities like New York and Washington, DC.
That is still uncertain and our defense of Israel should not be done just to save our own necks.
History, not the Bible, proves that the Great Creator puts America in her wealthy position to spread the Gospel to the four corners of the world.
He also ordained us to win the Second World War and be a partner in the development of the Nation of Israel. Defending Israel since 1948, providing Israel with a faithful partnership, and being her ally right down to the end is absolutely God’s will for our great nation.
Anyone that would undercut that purpose needs to remember that God is still the sole owner and keeper of this Universe.
He can pull down an arrogant president just like He allowed him to be elected. I would suggest that any president or politician should watch his words and actions because God knows all things and Israel is His heartthrob.
America is not Babylon, but America is answerable to God for our grievous sins and for our responsibility to Israel.
I don’t agree or disagree with the below article. The United States is arrogant and are bullies, so I do see the author’s point.
Yet, even though the White House became extremely dark and wicked when Old Man Bush stepped into office, there hadn’t been any intelligence there until Reagan was elected and then for another 24 years there was nothing but evilness, until Trump became president.
Of course, saying that America is not the revised Babylon is debatable. It doesn’t matter to me because nothing happens that God does not want to happen, he is always in control.
But anyway, we have to look at both sides of things so tomorrow we will look at…
Revelation 18 The Desolation of Babylon
1 And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.
2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.
“Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen” – the double phrase is for emphasis and certainty
3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.
4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
“Come out of her” – a common prophetic warning (cf. 52:11; Jer 51:45; 2 Cor 6:27).
5 For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.
6 Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double.
7 How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow.
“I sit a queen, and am no widow” – the ungodly system refuses to see itself as it really is.
8 Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her.
9 And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning,
18-9-20 – three groups lament: (1) kings (v. 9), (2) merchants (v. 11), and (3) sailors (v. 17). The passage is modeled after Ezekiel’s laments over Tyre (Eze 27).
Fifteen of the 29 commodities in vv. 12-13 are also listed in Eze 27:12-22.
“Kings…bewail her, and lament” – probably because of their own great financial loss.
10 Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy Judgment come.
11 And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more:
12 The merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and all manner vessels of ivory, and all manner vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble,
“Purple” – an expensive dye since it must be extracted a drop at a time from the murex shellfish.
“Thyine wood” – an expensive dark wood from north Africa – used for inlay work in costly furniture.
13 And cinnamon, and odors, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men.
14 And the fruits that thy soul lusted after are departed from thee, and all things which were dainty and goodly are departed from thee, and thou shalt find them no more at all.
15 The merchants of these things, which were made rich by her, shall stand afar off for the fear of her torment, weeping and wailing,
16 And saying, Alas, alas, that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls!
17 For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off,
“Shipmaster” – the pilot of the ship rather than the owner. Both are mentioned in Acts 27:11.
18 And cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, What city is like unto this great city!
“Cast dust on their heads” – an act of sorrow and dismay (see Eze 27:30).
19 And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas, that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate.
20 Rejoice over her, thou heaven, and ye holy apostles and prophets; for God hath avenged you on her.
21 And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all.
“Great millstone” – similar to the large millstone of Mk 9:42, which was actually a “donkey millstone” (one large enough to require a donkey to turn it).
22 And the voice of harpers, and musicians, and of pipers, and trumpeters, shall be heard no more at all in thee; and no craftsman, of whatsoever craft he be, shall be found any more in thee; and the sound of a millstone shall be heard no more at all in thee;
23 And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.
24 And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.

Babylon America’s Nuclear Destruction Is Coming
by Michael Clinton
Revelation 17 & 18 not Rome or Iraq
I have read Revelation 18 & 19 many times. Every time I read them I think it looks like a description of America.
The majority of Bible teachers tell us this is about Rome or the literal city of Babylon, but there are serious problems with these views.
The Babylon described in Revelation 17&18 is at the end of the age, it has a deep water port, it is totally destroyed, never to rise again. This is not true of ancient Babylon or Rome.
Did God Not See America?
Did God not see the most powerful, wealthy, influential nation to arise ever on the earth? I think he did, and America appears to be Babylon the Great.
In the same way that the Roman Empire was symbolized by Rome and the kingdom of Babylon was represented by the city of Babylon, so America here is symbolized by a city, probably New York.
America’s Symbols Came From Babylon
Even the symbols of America came from Babylon. We may think they are Roman or Greek but they got them from Babylon.
The Statue of Liberty, for instance, is actually a replica of the Babylonian goddess Ishtar the Mother of Harlots and the goddess of Freedom/Liberty. The Statue of the Goddess of Liberty topping the U.S. Capitol building dome is also Ishtar.
Standing guard at the entrance to the U.S. Capitol Building is a statue of the Greek god Mars.
According to the U.S. Library of Congress and the Office of the Architect of the Capitol, the Greeks borrowed the god Mars and the religious dogmas from the Babylonians.
In reality Baal stands guard at the U.S. Capitol entrance. The entire concept of the U.S. Capitol building was borrowed from Rome’s pagan temple dedicated to all the gods of Rome – it was called The Pantheon – yet, the Romans borrowed the concept from Babylon.
It was explicitly the desire of George Washington and Thomas Jefferson to have this concept in the Capitol’s design; therefore, they rigged the bidding process to make sure this design included this “Babylonian” concept of the “Pantheon of the gods.”
Judgment Must Come
When I read about the slaughter of over 55,000,000 babies, the carnage of all the innocent people in the wars that are strictly for the greed of a few, the drugs being brought in by our own country by the CIA, the deaths of all the people who have tried to expose this, the drug programs like MK – ULTRA and Project Artichoke, Satanic ritual abuse of children among the elite of the country, the legal protection of sexual perversion, the corruption of morals worldwide through our music and entertainment, and the near total absence of any warning from the pastors in this land, I know that God will not let this go unpunished.
“The main reason why I — along with many others — believe that America is the Babylon talked about in Revelation 18 is because of several verses that, when considered collectively, lead us to conclude that America is the only country that fulfills all of the parameters listed in the verses.
Let us examine what the scriptures say about this modern day end-times Babylon and see how they undeniably point to America.
1. End-times Babylon is a great nation that receives judgment for its many sins.
“And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird” (Rev. 18:2).
2. This nation is a superpower and has world dominance and importance. It has also spread its corruption to the world.
“For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her” (Rev. 18:3).
3. The merchants of the world are made rich through trading with this nation. This nation consumes huge amounts of goods.
“And the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies” (Rev. 18:3).
“And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more:
The merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and all manner vessels of ivory, and all manner vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble,
And cinnamon, and odors, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men” (Rev. 18:11–13).
4. This nation is proud and arrogant and considers herself to be invincible and the greatest nation on earth.
“How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow” (Rev. 18:7).
5. This nation is typified by an extravagant lifestyle.
“And saying, Alas, alas, that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls!” (Rev. 18:16).
6. Other nations are controlled by her and given great riches by her.
“And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her” (Rev. 18:9).
7. This nation is a coastal nation, with deep water ports and much international trade.
“And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off” (Rev. 18:17).
8. This nation has defenses in the heavens.
“Though Babylon should mount up to heaven, and though she should fortify the height of her strength, yet from me shall spoilers come unto her, saith the Lord” (Jer. 51:53).
Repeatedly we are told in Rev. 17&18 that Babylon the Great will be totally destroyed by a fire that will cause the mourners to stand at a great distance.
What kind of fire would cause this? What kind of fire would result in a land that could no longer be inhabited? How many Chernobyls and Fukushimas would be the result of sudden nuclear attack on our country?
Yes, it looks like America is Babylon the Great and that sometime in the future nuclear destruction will be the price we pay for rejecting God. I wish it were not true.
Nobody knows for certain who or what is the Great Whore of Babylon, but I would say it’s the Jews and/or Rome and/or the Catholics and/or Satan himself or it could even be Hilary Clinton.
According toNostradamusthe Antichrist will come from the east wearing a blue or purple turban – I don’t really believe in predictions outside of the Bible, but you never know.
Now we can’t help but wonder about the “Mystery of Babylon.” What or where is it? Does the Antichrist come from Babylon?
Some people say that the United States is the Babylon of the end times, but most disagree. I grew up in the 70s and that era was all about sex, drugs, and rock-n-roll. Today the entire world, especially the United States, is about homosexuality, idolatry and power.
Tomorrow we’ll look at…
Revelation 17 The Woman on the Beast
1 And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the Judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters:
“Great whore” – see v. 18 for the angel’s own identification of this symbol. In 17:5 the harlot is named “BABYLON THE GREAT.”
“Sitteth upon many waters” – see Ps 137:1; Jer 51:13)
2 With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.
“In the spirit” – in a state of spiritual ecstasy.
“Scarlet colored beast” – the beast that rose out of the sea in ch. 13.
3 So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet colored beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.
4 And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet color, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:
5 And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
6 And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.
7 And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns.
8 The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.
“Was, and is not, and shall ascend” – an obvious imitation of the description of the Lamb (1:18, 2:8). Cf. the description of God in 1:4, 8, 4:8. Here the phrase seems to mean that the beast appeared once, is not presently evident, but will in the future again make his presence known. Evil is persistent.
“Go into perdition” – although evil is real and persistent, there is no uncertainty about its ultimate fate.
9 And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.
“Seven mountains” – it is perhaps significant that Rome began as a network of seven hill settlements on the left bank of the Tiber. Her designation as the city on seven hills is commonplace among Roman writers (e.g., Virgil, Martial, Cicero).
10 And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.
“Seven kings” – that seven heads symbolize both seven hills and seven kings illustrates the fluidity of apocalyptic symbolism, unless the hills are figurative for royal (or political) power.
“Five…one…the other” – taken (1) as seven actual Roman emperors, (2) as seven secular empires or (3) symbolically as the power of the Roman empire as a whole.
11 And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.
“The eighth” – the antichrist, who plays the role of a king (“is one of the seven”) but is in reality part of the cosmic struggle between God and Satan.
12 And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.
13 These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.
14 These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.
“Lord of lords, and King of kings” – emphasizes the supreme sovereignty of the Lamb (cf. Deut 10:17; Ps 136:21-3; Dan 2:47; 1 Tim 6:15).
15 And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.
16 And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.
17 For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.
18 And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.
Who or What is The Great Whore of Babylon?

Solving the Mystery of Babylon the Great
And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH (Rev 17:5).
In its capacity to fill one’s heart with horror and wonder, it is clearly the most staggering prophetic image one can find in the entire Holy Bible – John’s description of the Whore of Babylon.
The Apostle John saw many terrible things that day on Patmos, the Greek isle to which he had been banished.
But perhaps few could compare with this, his vision of the alluring and tantalizing, yet deadly “Mother of Harlots and Abominations of the Earth.”
Who can imagine what breathtaking thoughts raced through John’s mind? We do get a glimpse into the Apostle’s thought process when we read his words:
“And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration” (Rev 17:6).
Mother of Harlots – A Stone-Cold Serial Killer
If there ever was a conspiracy against nations and people of earth this is its highest ensign.
The Mother of Harlots, sitting upon a beast, is wealthy beyond compare—she is “decked with gold and precious stones and pearls,” and she holds a “golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filth of her fornication.”
The mysterious woman, regally arrayed in purple and scarlet color, is drunk, but not from alcohol and strong drink; the Mother of Harlots is drunken “with the blood of the saints and the blood of the martyrs of Jesus.”
No black widow could compare with this sinister and evil woman. This is no lady. This is a stone-cold serial killer who feasts on the blood of the saints of Jesus and no doubt leaves the world littered with the remains of destroyed souls.
John had seen many terrible things in his life – and now he was a ripe-old 95 years in age – but this was perhaps the most monstrous of all.
So incredible was this sight that John was led to admit, “I wondered with great admiration.”
Certainly this was a begrudging “admiration,” but as they say, gives even the devil his due!
Mystery, Babylon the Great is a religious system to encompass all the “inhabitants of the earth.”
Indeed, John was told that the wicked woman reigns over “peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues (languages).”
More than that, the sinful Mother of Harlots sits upon the beast that came up out of the bottomless pit (hell) and will in due time “go into perdition.”
Yes, the Great Harlot exercises all the ominous and savage power of the horrific beast, the Behemoth, which shall bring such utter misery to every man, woman, and child on this planet.
Three Important Questions
Three important questions haunt our senses and must be answered:
1. Who is the marvelous, but terrible, woman described as “the Mother of Harlots and Abominations of the Earth” on whose forehead is written, “MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT?”
2. Who is the beast that she sits upon?
3. What is their terrible plan that is even now quickly coming to pass and that will bring such blood and horror into all our lives?
Is This the Pope and the Catholic Church?
As a young man, I listened to many preachers and Bible prophecy teachers who warned that Mystery Babylon is none other than the Pope and the Roman Catholic Church.
From the days of Martin Luther, whose heroism and devotion inspired the Protestant movement and the Reformation, Christian leaders have pointed to Rome as the center of global wickedness in the last days.
Many believed that the Pope is the very antichrist, the man of sin whose number is 666.
However, in the span of just one generation – in my lifetime – the ecumenical movement and the tendency of the Christian establishment to grow jaded and lukewarm have significantly cooled the ardor of pastors and prophecy teachers.
No longer do most criticize the false teachings and abominations of the Papacy. Instead, they have jumped into bed with the Pope and swallowed the toxins and poisons emanating from the fountain of St. Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican.
But the “Falling Away” of the apostate Christian Church does not change the prophetic truths of the Holy Bible.
The question still arises in the hearts of the faithful saints: Is the Vatican and the Papacy “MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT?”
Regardless of what our dulled clergy and compromised Church leaders suggest, what does God’s Word reveal to us?
What about the Synagogue of Satan?
While questions must be answered about the Pope and his Romish Church, there has arisen yet another great competitor for the infamous title of MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT.
I refer, of course, to the Synagogue of Satan (Rev 2:9 and 3:9).
In our generation, the monolithic power of World Jewry has galloped to the forefront. With its vaults of banks bulging with stolen cash, its balance sheet hefty with plundered wealth, its Israeli nation aided and abetted by the military muscle and diplomatic might of the world’s greatest superpower, the Jewish-ruled United States of America, the Synagogue of Satan today sits at the pinnacle of earthly dominion.
The Zionist elite have a heinous Plan that is now being worked to usher in the Jewish Utopia. Their Messiah, the Antichrist, will be at its helm.
And once this Plan is realized, Gentiles everywhere will tremble with fear and trepidation. Make no mistake about that.
So, which satanic cult will turn out to be MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT? Will it be Rome, or will it be the Jerusalem/Washington, D.C. axis that makes war on the saints and spills their blood and places all of humankind into the iron jaws of a global, Big Brother Police State? What does the Bible say?
Solving the Mystery of Babylon the Great
I am pleased in this newsletter and on our powerofprophecy.com website to offer you an eye-opening new book just released.
I believe this book will answer many of your questions on this vital, prophetic issue. Frankly, there has never been a book exactly like this, authored by a born again Christian of such sterling credentials.
I have not read this book, but if interested you can click on it above to purchase it.
Now I have had a number of fascinating private discussions with Mr. Hendrie, and I have discerned the genuine heart this godly researcher has for Bible truth.
His new book is large format and almost 400 pages. What he reveals in these pages is a great discovery that God also put in my heart some years ago.
Its stunning conclusion will, I promise you, unshackle your senses and enlighten you in a most important way.
The Zionists and the Vatican Conspiring Together
Hendrie presents a mountain of evidence, buttressed by factual documentation, proving that MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT is both of Zionism and of Rome.
The evidence, says Hendrie, leads to the inevitable conclusion “that the Roman Catholic Church was established by crypto Jews as a false “Christian’ front for a Judaic/Babylonian religion.”
Moreover, “that religion is the nucleus of a world conspiracy against man and God.”
Could this be? Could the Vatican and its Supreme Pontiff be the world’s greatest and most stultifying evil hoax?
Are the sinister leaders of the serpentine Synagogue of Satan the actual hidden masters who pull the strings of the Papacy?
In these momentous days in which Satan is preparing America and the world for the final, gargantuan assault on our liberties, our freedoms, and our very souls, are the Zionist Illuminati elite and the black and scarlet-robed men of Rome conspiring together for our demise?
Hendrie An Ex-Catholic and An Attorney
Who is Edward Hendrie and what qualifies him to write this amazing book? Hendrie is a successful attorney, a constitutional expert. He is author of three other books.
To those who may accuse him of being a Catholic basher, let me add that Hendrie is himself an ex-Catholic. Raised in the Catholic faith by devout Catholic parents, he exclusively attended Catholic schools and graduated from America’s most prestigious Roman Catholic University—The University of Notre Dame.
He subsequently earned his law degree from a Jesuit institution—the University of Detroit, in Michigan.
Imagine: A book like this unmasking Rome, the Jesuits, and the Papacy in a spectacular way, written not by a Protestant with an axe to grind, but by a brilliant man whose entire life was once wrapped around the false claims of Rome and the Jesuit Order—until, the day he met Jesus.
Those plagues were bad, but they are nothing compared to what You are going to do in the very end. I am so glad I won’t be here to see it, I”ll be with You and Jesus.
Revelation 16 mentions Amargeddon, so tomorrow we’ll look at…
Revelation 16The Vials of God’s Wrath
1 And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth.
2 And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast, and upon them which worshipped his image.
“Vial” – a vial is similar to a chemistry beaker, a cereal bowl or a goblet. Each angel dips his goblet into the vial of God’s wrath and casts it forth on the earth. Compare the first four vials (vv. 2-9) with the first four trumpets (8:7-12).
“Noisome and grievous sore” – cf. the boils and abscesses of the sixth Egyptian plague (Ex 9:9-11; see also Job 2:7-8, 13).
3 And the second angel poured out his vial upon the sea; and it became as the blood of a dead man: and every living soul died in the sea.
4 And the third angel poured out his vial upon the rivers and fountains of waters; and they became blood.
5 And I heard the angel of the waters say, Thou art righteous, O Lord, which art, and wast, and shalt be, because thou hast judged thus.
6 For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy.
“Given them blood to drink” – punishment is tailored to fit the crime (see Lk 12:42-48; Is 49:26)
7 And I heard another out of the altar say, Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are thy Judgments.
8 And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire.
“Fire” – often connected with judgment in Scripture (see Deut 28:22; 1 Cor 3:13; 2 Pet 3:7).
9 And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory.
“They repented not” – in 11:13 the nations were dazzled into homage by the earthquake. Here they curse the name of God.
10 And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the seat of the beast; and his kingdom was full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for pain,
“Seat of the beast” – cf. Satan’s throne in 2:13 “Throne” occurs 42 times in Revelation. The other 40 references are to the throne of God.
11 And blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and repented not of their deeds.
“God of heaven” – used in Dan 2:44 of the sovereign God, who destroys the kingdom of the world and establishes His universal and eternal reign.
12 And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared.
“Kings of the east” – Evidently Parthian rulers (17:15-18:24), to be distinguished from the “kings of the earth” (v. 14), who wage the final war against Christ and the armies of heaven.
13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.
“Frogs’ – Lev 11:10 classifies the frog as an unclean animal. The imagery suggests the deceptive propaganda that will, in the last days, lead people to accept and support that cause of evil.
14 For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.
15 Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.
16 And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.
“Armageddon” – this probably stands for Har Mageddon, “the mountain of Megiddo”. Many see no specific geographical reference in the designation and take it to be a symbol of the final overthrow of evil by God.
However, the city of Megiddo strategically overlooks the Jezreel Valley where this final battle will be fought.
It takes its name from this city and the mound upon which it is built, thus providing the reader with a specific location for this conflict.
17 And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done.
18 And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great.
19 And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.
20 And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found.
21 And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven, every stone about the weight of a talent: and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail; for the plague thereof was exceeding great.
Scientists Link Ancient Plagues To Future Outbreaks
An international team of scientists has discovered that two of the world’s most devastating plagues — the plague of Justinian and the Black Death, each responsible for killing as many as half the people in Europe — were caused by distinct strains of the same pathogen, one that faded out on its own, the other leading to worldwide spread and re-emergence in the late 1800s.
These findings suggest a new strain of plague could emerge again in humans in the future.
“The research is both fascinating and perplexing, it generates new questions which need to be explored, for example why did this pandemic, which killed somewhere between 50 and 100 million people die out?”
The findings are dramatic because little has been known about the origins or cause of the Justinian Plague — which helped bring an end to the Roman Empire — and its relationship to the Black Death, some 800 years later.
Scientists hope this could lead to a better understanding of the dynamics of modern infectious disease, including a form of the plague that still kills thousands every year. The Plague of Justinian struck in the 6th century and is estimated to have killed between 30 and 50 million people — virtually half the world’s population as it spread across Asia, North Africa, Arabia and Europe.
The Black Death would strike some 800 years later with similar force, killing 50 million Europeans between just 1347 and 1351 alone.
Using sophisticated methods, researchers from many universities including McMaster Univ., Northern Arizona Univ. and the Univ. of Sydney, isolated miniscule DNA fragments from the 1,500-year-old teeth of two victims of the Justinian plague, buried in Bavaria, Germany. These are the oldest pathogen genomes obtained to date.
Using these short fragments, they reconstructed the genome of the oldest Yersinia pestis, the bacterium responsible for the plague, and compared it to a database of genomes of more than a hundred contemporary strains.
The results are currently published in the online edition of The Lancet Infectious Disease. They show the strain responsible for the Justinian outbreak was an evolutionary “dead-end” and distinct from strains involved later in the Black Death and other plague pandemics that would follow.
The third pandemic, which spread from Hong Kong across the globe is likely a descendant of the Black Death strain and thus much more successful than the one responsible for the Justinian Plague.
“We know the bacterium Y. pestis has jumped from rodents into humans throughout history and rodent reservoirs of plague still exist today in many parts of the world.
If the Justinian plague could erupt in the human population, cause a massive pandemic, and then die out, it suggest it could happen again.
Fortunately we now have antibiotics that could be used to effectively treat plague, which lessens the chances of another large scale human pandemic”, says Dave Wagner.
The samples used in the latest research were taken from two victims of the Justinian plague, buried in a gravesite in a small cemetery in the German town of Aschheim. Scientists believe the victims died in the latter stages of the epidemic when it had reached southern Bavaria, likely sometime between 541 and 543.
The skeletal remains yielded important clues and raised more questions. Researchers now believe the Justinian Y. pestis strain originated in Asia, not in Africa as originally thought. But they could not establish a “molecular clock” so its evolutionary time-scale remains elusive.
This suggests that earlier epidemics, such as the Plague of Athens (430 B.C.) and the Antonine Plague (165-180 A.D.), could also be separate, independent emergences of related Y. pestis strains into humans.
“The tick of the plague bacteria molecular clock is highly erratic. Determining why is an important goal for future research,” says Edward Holmes.
Our response to modern infectious diseases is a direct outcome of lessons learned from ancestral pandemics, say the researchers.
“This study raises intriguing questions about why a pathogen that was both so successful and so deadly died out. One testable possibility is that human populations evolved to become less susceptible,” says Holmes.
“Another possibility is that changes in the climate became less suitable for the plague bacterium to survive in the wild,” says Wagner.
…the Great Whore of Babylon. Who or what is the Great Whore of Babylon?
I don’t believe Jesus was married, or He would have told us. Like when He was on the cross He said,
“When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son!” (Jn 19:26).
God created marriage and it wasn’t for the purpose of having sex. Marriage is about love, Jesus did not marry any one person, He loves everybody.
Today marriage is abused and sex is overrated; rarely is love involved, but lust and lust leads to problems. A simple analogy is rotten food. If you eat rotten food your body will be infested with diseased bacteria equals illness and possibly death.
Speaking of death, scientists fear our future, so tomorrow we’ll look at…
Revelation 15 The Seven Plagues
1 And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvelous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God.
15:1-8 – introduces the last of the three sevenfold series of judgments – the plagues, or vials of wrath.
2 And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God.
3 And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvelous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints.
“Song of Moses” – see Ex 15; Deut 32. Ex 15:1-18 was sung on Sabbath evenings in the synagogue to celebrate Israel’s great deliverance from Egypt.
“Song of the lamb” – the risen Lord triumphed over His enemies in securing spiritual deliverance for His followers.
4 Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy Judgments are made manifest.
5 And after that I looked, and, behold, the temple of the tabernacle of the testimony in heaven was opened:
“Tabernacle of the testimony” – the dwelling place of God during the wilderness wandering of the Israelites. It was so named because the ancient tent contained the two tables of the Testimony brought down from Mount Sinai (Ex 32:15; 38:21; Deut 10:5).
6 And the seven angels came out of the temple, having the seven plagues, clothed in pure and white linen, and having their breasts girded with golden girdles.
7 And one of the four beasts gave unto the seven angels seven golden vials full of the wrath of God, who liveth forever and ever.
8 And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God, and from his power; and no man was able to enter into the temple, till the seven plagues of the seven angels were fulfilled.
Ancient Papyrus Say Jesus Christ Was Married?
An ancient, business-card-sized papyrus fragment that appears to quote Jesus Christ discussing his wife is real, Harvard University announced Thursday.
The fragment caused international uproar when it was revealed by a Harvard historian in September 2012, with prominent academics and the Vatican swiftly deeming it a forgery.
Harvard officials said scientists both within and outside the university extensively tested the papyrus and carbon ink of the badly aged fragment, dubbed the “Gospel of Jesus’ Wife.”
The document, written in Coptic, a language of ancient Egyptian Christians, is made up of eight mostly legible dark lines on the front and six barely legible faded lines on the back.
The handwriting and grammar were also examined over the last year and a half to confirm its authenticity. Scientists have concluded the fragment dates back to at least the 6th to 9th centuries, and possibly as far back as the 4th century.
The document was never meant to prove Jesus was married, Harvard Divinity School professor Karen L. King emphasized Thursday. Instead, she argued, it’s meant to highlight that some early Christians may have believed Jesus was married.
The distinction is significant because debates over sexuality and marriage have dominated contemporary discussions about Christianity; the Catholic Church cites Jesus’ celibacy as one reason its priests must not have sex or marry.
“The main topic of the fragment is to affirm that women who are mothers and wives can be disciples of Jesus – a topic that was hotly debated in early Christianity as celibate virginity increasingly became highly valued,”
King, whose specialties include Coptic literature, Gnosticism and women in the Bible, said in a statement Thursday.
“This gospel fragment provides a reason to reconsider what we thought we knew by asking what the role claims of Jesus’ marital status played historically in early Christian controversies over marriage, celibacy, and family.”
The legible lines on the front of the artifact seem to form a broken conversation between Jesus and his disciples.
The fourth line of the text says,
“Jesus said to them, my wife.”
Line 5 says,
“…she will be able to be my disciple,”
while the line before the “wife” quote has Jesus saying,
“Mary is worthy of it”
and line 7 says,
“As for me, I dwell with her in order to …”
…the possibility that past plagues could be be duplicated today?
I don’t see how anyone cannot believe in You. Ancient man believed in You and we can’t dispute their existence especially since there is nothing we have today that we have not copied or made adjustments to.
Anywhere from electricity, computers, toilets and even beer was taught to us by Ancient man.
Some say that Jesus was married, but the Bible doesn’t say that. Tomorrow we’ll look at…
Revelation 14 The Lamb on Mount Zion
1 And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father’s name written in their foreheads.
“Mount Sion” – in the Old Testament it was first the fortress of the pre-Israelite city of Jerusalem (2 Sam 5:7), captured by David and established as his capital.
Later it became a virtual synonym for Jerusalem. In Revelation, as in Heb 12:22-24, it is the heavenly Jerusalem, the eternal dwelling place of God and His people. It comes to the new earth in 21:2-3.
2 And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps:
3 And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth.
4 These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb.
“Not defiled with women” – this could be a symbolic description of believers who kept themselves from defiling relationships with the pagan world system, or it could signify that the 144,000 are only males.
“They are virgins” – this phrase could confirm the literal interpretation.
“Firstfruits” – the word is used figuratively in the New Testament for the first converts in an area (Rom 16:5) and the first to rise from the dead (1 Cor 15:20).
In Revelation believers are considered as a choice offering to God and the Lamb.
5 And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God.
6 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,
“Everlasting gospel” – the content of this “good news” is perhaps found in v. 7. Angels are given the task of preaching at this point.
7 Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his Judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.
8 And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.
“Babylon’ – Ancient Babylon in Mesopotamia was the political, commercial and religious center of a world empire. It was noted for its luxury and moral decadence.
The title “That great city” is taken from Dan 4:30. According to some, it is used in Revelation (e.g., here in 16:19, 17:5, 18:2, 10, 21) for Rome as the center of opposition to God and His people.
According to others, it represents the whole political and religious system of the world in general. According to still others, it is to be understood as literal Babylon – rebuilt and restored. Babylon’s fall is proclaimed in Is 21:9; Jer 51:8.
“Wine of the wrath of her fornication” – Here Babylon (Rome?) is pictured as a prostitute whose illicit relations are achieved by intoxication.
9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,
10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:
“Cup of his indignation” – in the Old Testament God’s wrath is commonly pictured as a cup of wine to be drunk. It is not the outworking of impersonal laws of retribution, but the response of a righteous God to those who refuse His love and grace.
“Fire and brimstone” – Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed by a rain of fire and brimstone. Psalm 11:6 speaks of a similar fate for the wicked. The figure occurs elsewhere in the Old Testament and the Apocrypha.
It is used several times in the final chapters of Revelation (19:20, 20:10, 21:8).
11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.
“Torment…forever and ever” – Revelation offers no support for the doctrine of the annihilation of the wicked (also compare 19:20 with 20:10).
12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labors; and their works do follow them.
14 And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle.
“Sickle” – the Israelite sickle used for cutting grain was normally a flint or iron blade attached to a curved shaft of wood or bone.
15 And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in thy sickle, and reaps: for the time is come for thee to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe.
“Harvest of the earth” – symbolizes in a general way the coming judgment (see Matt 13:30, 40-42). Some interpreters think it refers to the ingathering of the righteous at the return of Christ.
16 And he that sat on the cloud thrust in his sickle on the earth; and the earth was reaped.
17 And another angel came out of the temple which is in heaven, he also having a sharp sickle.
18 And another angel came out from the altar, which had power over fire; and cried with a loud cry to him that had the sharp sickle, saying, Thrust in thy sharp sickle, and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth; for her grapes are fully ripe.
“Another angel…which had power over fire” – the angel of 8:3-5. Fire is commonly associated with judgment (see Matt; Lk 9:54; 2 Thess 1:7).
“Sharp sickle” – the context suggests (in contrast to the sickle of v. 14) the smaller grape-knife with which the farmer cut the clusters of grapes from the vine.
19 And the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast it into the great winepress of the wrath of God.
“Great winepress” – a rock-hewn trough about eight feet square with a channel leading to a lower and small trough. Grapes were thrown into the upper vat and tramped with bare feet. The juice was collected in the lower vat.
At times mechanical pressure was added. The treading of grapes was a common Old Testament figure for the execution of divine wrath (see Is 63:3; Lam 1:15; Joel 3:13).
20 And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs.
“Without the city” – Bloodshed would defile the city (see Joel 3:12-14; Zech 14:1-4; cf. Heb 13:12).
“A thousand and six hundred furlongs” – the approximate length of the Holy Land from north to south.
The Ability to See God
A patient came to my clinic in Saudi Arabia with a history of sudden and profound visual loss. I looked at the optic nerves in the back of his eyes, and they appeared chalky white. Such an appearance is typical for damage caused by drinking methanol.
In the culture in which I was working, it was forbidden to drink alcohol. Therefore, it was difficult for the average man on the street to find legal sources of alcohol. I questioned this man about drinking, and he steadfastly denied he had ingested any forbidden substances. The appearance of his optic nerves told a different story.
For about fifteen minutes I questioned him on different things he might have imbibed. Finally, he admitted he had taken a bottle of perfume, poured it into a cup, and drank the whole thing.
When he awoke the next morning, he noticed that his bedroom seemed dark. He asked his wife to open the windows so light could shine into the room. His vision was so bad he didn’t know there was daylight streaming into the room. He had irreversible blindness caused by drinking perfume containing methanol.
I have examined many patients who are blind from putting methanol into their body. No one can tell me it doesn’t matter what you put into your body.
I have also examined many people who have put toxic waste into their mind. They are now spiritually blind and have lost their ability to see God. No one can tell me it doesn’t matter what you put into your mind.
What you put into your mind affects your inner vision. When you spend years polluting your mind with toxic waste, you become spiritually blind and lose your ability to see God.
People act as if what they put into their mind doesn’t matter. They freely sample everything on the smorgasbord of life and fill their mind with garbage and toxic waste. One day they wake up and realize they can’t see God.
Jesus said, “Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God.” Jesus was talking about the Law of Spiritual Vision. What is this law?
The Law of Spiritual Vision states: “Only the pure in heart can see God.” The pure in heart have a special blessing. They have twenty-twenty spiritual vision, and they can see God at work in their life.
What you put into your heart and mind is vitally important because it determines your ability to see God at work in your world.
…ancient papyrus found that says Jesus Christ was married.
I’m not wealthy, not talented, and I have the average I.Q. (or at least I hope it’s that high), but I’m no idiot either.
Jesus said that the tribulation would be the worst of the worst – if the word tribulation wasn’t there I would have thought he was talking about Obama or Bush or Clinton:
“For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be” (Matt 24:21).
I’m happy to say that, as of 2007, I was removed from the devil’s invitation list.
About the New World Order, I’m not sure if the rapture will be before or after it, but I believe it will be before.
Anyway, as you are reading my posts, if you think I’m a nut, you’re correct, I’m a fruitcake, but I belong to Jesus so it’s okay, He said so, and I’m proud of it:
“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light” (1 Pet 2:9).

But his joyful expression suddenly changes into a distressed frown when a nurse takes a stainless steel syringe and inserts a microchip capsule into the child’s right hand.
The healthcare worker quickly reassures the concerned father this is standard procedure.

According to The Morning Call, developers claim, “This stuff is going to be everywhere” and “nobody has even thought of where this [technology] is going to be applied.”
RFID is an advanced identification process in which an individual or item is tagged with a specific ID number.
Using radio waves, a computerized reader can scan a tag’s unique serial number and access any stored information.
The advantage of this system?
Beyond today’s barcode technology, the tagged object need only come within a few feet of a reader to process an identity number. Picture a society in which a microchip embedded in a person’s hand is crucial to everyday life. Shopping at the supermarket or buying any other item would be as simple as a flip of the wrist or walking through a pay point.
Doors would unlock with a wave of the hand, and carrying a wallet with a driver’s license would be unnecessary.
Proponents of this technology maintain the chip would improve day-to-day life, with almost infinite applications.
Consider how it could revolutionize the banking sector or advance the healthcare industry—or the benefits to travel, education and keyless home access.
In 2004, the United States Food and Drug Administration approved the RFID implant, VeriChip, for medical purposes.
According to The Associated Press, the device is no bigger than a grain of rice and can be inserted under the skin through a procedure that takes less than 20 minutes.
On top of proposed widespread medical uses, the chip is already being used for recreation, as reported by AP: “Club hoppers in Barcelona, Spain, now use the microchip to enter a VIP area and, through links to a different database, speed payment much like a smartcard.”
But there are genuine concerns.
“You are walking into potential pitfalls when it comes to privacy,” an American Civil Liberties Union legislative director told The Morning Call, adding, “People are amazing with their skill and ability to hack into databases.
Any time there is massive amounts of information gathered anywhere or your personal information gathered anywhere, we want to make sure there are barriers in place to protect it.”
Security issues are not the only concern.
The thought of RFID implants or similar technology causes anxiety and fear for some.
A number of evangelical Christian groups even feel the technology may be the biblical mark of the Beast described in the book of Revelation.
The New York Times described a 2007 lawsuit in which a woman sued the police department after being suspended from her employment because she refused “to be fingerprinted or accept [an updated identification] card, insisting that she was guided against doing so because she feared the cards carried ‘the mark of the beast’…She felt that getting the new card could ‘jeopardize [her] salvation.’”
Many prophecy watchers are convinced that RFID will be part of the mark of the Beast.
Articles, books and websites offer a cacophony of wildly different ideas on this subject. Self-proclaimed experts merely contribute to the confusion.
Is microchip technology the mark of the Beast?
Makes me think of the 1975 movie “The Stepford Wives.”We have talked about many things, ancient things, spooky things, and ridiculous beliefs. The last few days we’ve talked about horrible things like the evilness of Satan, the Illuminate, the evil Eye of Horus and so forth.
Speaking about the eye…I’m sure that after talking about the Mark of the Beast you are looking forward to hearing more about the Catholics, I mean the Whore of Babylon, and we’ll get to that in Chapter 17.
Atheists and other foolish beliefs believe that we came from nothing, and they are somewhat correct – we were created from nothing and there is nobody but God that can turn nothing into something.
The works of God is fabulous and spectacular and anyone that can push their arrogance aside is able to “see” that. Able to see how powerful and complex that even a tiny item (formed through the intelligence of God) can be .
Have you heard about the Chinese atheist who became a born again Christian WITHOUT the help of any type of religion? He didn’t need his sense of hearing, only his mind’s eye, so tomorrow we will look at…
Revelation 13 The Beast From the Sea
1 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.
“Beast rise up out of the sea” – first mentioned in 11:7. According to some, he beast symbolizes the Roman empire, the deification of secular authority. However, he seems to be the final, personal antichrist. The background seems to be Daniel’s vision of the four great beasts (Dan 7:2-7).
“Seven heads” – seven is the total number of combined heads in the four beasts in Dan 7:1-8.
“Ten horns” – the ten horns correspond to the ten toes of the image in Dan 2:44 (as mentioned in the above article), as well as the ten horns of Daniel’s forth beast (Dan 7:7-8, 24). This is a confederation of ten kingdoms headed by one powerful man – the antichrist.
“The name of blasphemy” – Roman emperors tended to assume titles of deity. Domitian, e.g., was addressed as Dominus et Deus noster (“Our Lord and God”).
2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.
“Leopard…bear…lion” – John’s beast combined characteristics of Daniel’s four beasts (Dan 7:4-6).
3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.
4 And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? Who is able to make war with him?
5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.
“Forty and two months” – for the first half (3½ years) of the tribulation period, the antichrist is the friend of Israel, making a covenant with Israel and possibly allowing them to rebuild their temple (Dan 9:26).
However, from the time the antichrist desecrates the temple (Dan 9:27), eh becomes Israel’s adversary for these 42 months, the last half of the tribulation.
6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.
7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.
8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
9 If any man have an ear, let him hear.
10 He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.
11 And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.
“Another beast coming up out of the earth” – according to some, he symbolizes religious power in the service of secular authorities.
However, in accordance with the personal aspects of the antichrist, he is the personal false prophet (see 16:13, 19:20, 20:10).
“Two horns like a lamb” – he attempts to appear gentle and harmless.
”Spake as a dragon” – see Jesus’s warning in Matt 7:15 about ravening wolves who come in sheep’s clothing.
12 And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.
“Exerciseth all power of the first beast” – the trinity of evil is now complete. The beast form the earth is under the authority of the beast from the sea. The latter is subject to the dragon.
Satan, secular power and religious compromise (or Satan, the antichrist and the false prophet) join against the cause of God: Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,
14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.
15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.
“Should both speak” – belief in statues that could speak is widely attested in ancient literature. Ventriloquism and other forms of deception were common.
16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
“Mark” – whatever its origin – possibly the branding of slaves or enemy soldiers, the sealing and stamping of official documents, or the sign of the cross on the forehead of a new Christian – the mark of the beast apparently symbolized allegiance to the demands of the imperial cult.
In the final days of the antichrist it will be the ultimate test of loyalty. It imitates the sealing of the servants of God in chapter 7.
17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
“Buy or sell” – economic boycott against all faithful believers.
“Number of his name” – in ancient times the letters of the alphabet served for numbers. Riddles using numerical equivalents for names were popular.
18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.
“Sex hundred threescore and six” – various schemes for decoding these numbers result in such names as Euanthas, Lateinos, and Nero Caesar. Others take 666 as a symbol for the trinity of evil and imperfection – each digit falls just short of the perfect number 7.
This article is going to be about the Mark of the Beast, but before every article I post I research in books or online sites, sometimes dozens, and I choose what I want to use, what I think is the most prevalent or interesting.
I came across a site about the number 666 that I feel I need to not necessarily warn you about because I’m not saying it’s wrong, but it can be confusing. The Book of Revelation is confusing as is.
“For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints” (1 Cor 14:33).
“And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:“For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil” (Gen 3:4-5).
“In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them” (2 Cor 4:4).
Like I have said in the past, I did not create this blog to make friends, nor am I trying to convince idiots that they are idiots because they would sit and argue with me that they are not.
I’m here as a teacher, as well as a student because some of the things I post are new to me, I learn about it through extensive research.
When you take your car in to get the oil changed usually the attendant will tell you what things your car may or may not need.
That’s basically what I’m doing; accept I’m also ready to oblige anyone that wants to debate over Jesus Christ or just throw-down.
Or you can see me as a Travel Agent. I’m here to sell tickets to a trip. But this trip includes the most fabulous event man has ever known.
It is expensive, i.e., you are not allowed to participate in things that the world offers, but it’s a nonstop flight forever.
If you are not interested in what I have to tell you about then you are obviously looking for a cheaper product so I suggest you go to Wal-Mart because they have everything but the good stuff.
What is the mark of the beast (666)?
The main passage in the Bible that mentions the “mark of the beast” is Rev 13:15-18. Other references can be found in Rev 14:9, 11, 15:2, 16:2, 19:20, 20:4.
This mark acts as a seal for the followers of Antichrist and the false prophet (the spokesperson for the Antichrist).
The false prophet (the second beast) is the one who causes people to take this mark. The mark is literally placed in the hand or forehead and is not simply a card someone carries.
The recent breakthroughs in medical implant chip and RFIDtechnologies have increased interest in the mark of the beast spoken of in Rev chapter 13, which you will read after this article.
It is possible that the technology we are seeing today represents the beginning stages of what may eventually be used as the mark of the beast. It is important to realize that a medical implant chip is not the mark of the beast.
The mark of the beast will be something given only to those who worship the Antichrist. Having a medical or financial microchip inserted into your right hand or forehead is not the mark of the beast.
The mark of the beast will be an end-times identification required by the Antichrist in order to buy or sell, and it will be given only to those who worship the Antichrist.
I agree with the above, but I certainly wouldn’t let the government do anything to me because you have no idea what secrets they have that they don’t tell.
Yet, don’t be confused here. Let us say the time is now and you have a choice to accept the mark of the beast or not. You cannot accept the mark and say you are not worshiping the beast, in God’s you are.
“…If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,
The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God…” (Rev 14:9-10).
It would be the same as you saying:
* You are a vegetarian but then order a hamburger, or
* Obama says he’s a true American when he was born in Kenya, or
* Oprah says she’s a Christian but also says Jesus isn’t the only way to heaven.
You can’t kind of be pregnant, you are or you aren’t.
Many good expositors of Revelation differ widely as to the exact nature of the mark of the beast. Besides the implanted chip view, other speculations include an ID card, a microchip, a barcode that is tattooed into the skin, or simply a mark that identifies someone as being faithful to the Antichrist’s kingdom.
This last view requires the least speculation, since it does not add any more information to what the Bible gives us. In other words, any of these things are possible, but at the same time they are all speculations. We should not spend a lot of time speculating on the precise details.
The Meaning of 666
The meaning of 666 is a mystery as well. Some have speculated that there was a connection to June 6, 2006—06/06/06. However, in Revelation chapter 13, the number 666 identifies a person, not a date.
We are told:
“Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six” (Rev 13:18).
Somehow, the number 666 will identify the Antichrist. For centuries Bible interpreters have been trying to identify certain individuals with 666. Nothing is conclusive.
That is why Rev 13:18 says the number requires wisdom. When the Antichrist is revealed…
“Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God” (2 Thess2:3-4).
At that time it will be clear who he is and how the number 666 identifies him.
Does the Bible prophesy a one-world government and a one-world currency in the end times?
The Bible does not use the phrase “One World Government” or “One World Currency” or “One World Order” in referring to the end times.
It does, however, provide ample evidence to enable us to draw the conclusion that both will exist under the rule of the Antichrist in the last days.
In his apocalyptic vision in the Book of Revelation, the Apostle John sees the “beast,” also called the Antichrist, rising out of the sea having seven heads and ten horns:
“And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy” (Rev 13:1).
Combining this vision with Daniel’s similar one:
“I came near unto one of them that stood by, and asked him the truth of all this. So he told me, and made me know the interpretation of the things.
These great beasts, which are four, are four kings, which shall arise out of the earth.
But the saints of the most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom forever, even for ever and ever.
Then I would know the truth of the fourth beast, which was diverse from all the others, exceeding dreadful, whose teeth were of iron, and his nails of brass; which devoured, brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feet;
And of the ten horns that were in his head and of the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even of that horn that had eyes and a mouth that spake very great things, whose look was more stout than his fellows.
I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them;
Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom.
Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.
And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings” (Dan 7:16-24).
Now we can conclude that some sort of world system will be inaugurated by the beast, the most powerful “horn,” who will defeat the other nine and will begin to wage war against Christians.
The ten-nation confederacy is also seen in Daniel’s image of the statue:
“And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters’ clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay.
And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken” (Dan 2:41-42).
Where he pictures the final world government consisting of ten entities represented by the ten toes of the statue.
Whoever the ten are and however they come to power, Scripture is clear that the beast will either destroy them or reduce their power to nothing more than figureheads. In the end, they will do his bidding.
John goes on to describe the ruler of this vast empire as having power and great authority, given to him by Satan himself (Rev 13:2), being followed by and receiving worship from “all the world” (Rev 13:3-4), and having authority over “every tribe, people, language and nation” (Rev 13:7).
From this description, it is logical to assume that this person is the leader of a one-world government which is recognized as sovereign over all other governments.
It’s hard to imagine how such diverse systems of government as are in power today would willingly subjugate themselves to a single ruler, and there are many theories on the subject.
conclusion is that the disasters and plagues described in Revelation as the seal and trumpet judgments (chapters 6-11) will be so devastating and create such a monumental global crisis that people will embrace anything and anyone who promises to give them relief.
Once entrenched in power, the beast (Antichrist) and the power behind him (Satan) will move to establish absolute control over all peoples of the earth to accomplish their true end, the worship Satan has been seeking ever since being thrown out of heaven (Is 14:12-14).
One way they will accomplish this is by controlling all commerce, and this is where the idea of a one-world currency comes in.
Rev 13:16-17 describes some sort of satanic mark which will be required in order to buy and sell. This means anyone who refuses the mark will be unable to buy food, clothing or other necessities of life.
No doubt the vast majority of people in the world will succumb to the mark simply to survive. Again, verse 16 makes it clear that this will be a universal system of control where everyone, rich and poor, great and small, will bear the mark on their hand or forehead.
There is a great deal of speculation as to how exactly this mark will be affixed, but the technologies that are available right now could accomplish it very easily.
After the Rapture
Those who are left behind after the Rapture of the Church will be faced with an excruciating choice – accept the mark of the beast in order to survive or face starvation and horrific persecution by the Antichrist and his followers.
But those who come to Christ during this time, those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life (Rev 13:8), will choose to endure, even to martyrdom.
