Replenishment of the Earth & Filled to the Brim

Finger Pointing UpWow, and I thought You were harsh with Adam and Eve.

“And Cain went out from the presence of the LORD, and dwelt in the land of Nod 1, on the east of Eden.

And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch” (Gen 4:16-17).

1. land of Nod
The “land of Nod” has no other reference in Scripture. It represents no known geographical name or place. The name seems to derive from the Hebrew, “nad,” which means “to wander.” Cain himself described his fate in just that way: “from thy face I shall be hidden; I shall be a fugitive and a wanderer on the earth” (Gen 4:14). Gordon-MacRae-Falsely-Accused-Priest-Land-of-Nod-East-of-Eden. The Aggadah – a collection of Rabbinic commentary, legend, and anecdotes accumulated over a thousand years – expanded on the Biblical account. The “mark of Cain” imposed by God was a pair of horns. According to the Aggadah legend, Cain’s great-grandson, Lamech, had poor eyesight and shot Cain with an arrow believing him to be a beast. There was a sense of “what goes around comes around” in the Aggadah version.

Note: Enoch also had children and they had children. Adam and Eve had another son, Seth, and he had children, and so-forth (Gen 4:18-5:32).

So the world began to be populated as God had wanted (Gen 1:28).

We know that God spoke to Adam, Eve, Cain, Abel, and Enoch (Gen 5:22-24), He may have spoken to others too.

Whether He did or not doesn’t matter because He was known of because after Enos was born, one of Seth’s sons, people started calling on God.

“And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the Lord” (Gen 4:26).

It is unknown how old Cain was when he met his wife or how old he was when he died. After Seth, Adam and Eve had more sons and daughters (Gen 5:4). Cain’s wife could be a sister, but if so, why was her name not mentioned in chapter five?

This takes us back to the possibility that the “Gap Theory” is valid, i.e., unmentioned incidents that occurred in between Gen 1:1 and 1:2.

Besides, everything is possible with God.

“But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible” (Matt 19:26).

Filled to the Brim

The title of this article makes you think it’s about the human population, but it is not, it’s about hell. But before I say anything else I’m going to use the United States Landfills as a short analogy.

America’s Largest Landfills

2. L.A. is home
L.A. is home to America’s largest landfill site.

It’s as tall as some of L.A.’s highest skyscrapers, but the only residents here are rats and cockroaches.

Welcome to the Puente Hills Landfill, the largest rubbish dump in America. Over 150 meters of garbage has risen from the ground since the area became a designated dumping site in 1957.

Now, six days a week, an army of 1,500 trucks delivers a heaving 12,000 tons of municipal solid waste from the homes and offices of L.A. County’s millions of inhabitants. “This used to be a dairy farm; a valley filled with cows producing milk.

And now it’s a geological feature made out of trash,” said Edward Humes, author of “Garbology: Our Dirty Love Affair with Trash” — a book that charts the history of garbage in America.

With more than 250 million tons of trash created in the United States each year, the garbage business in America is beyond big. The $52-billion-a-year industry is dominated by companies like Waste Management and Republic Services.

Gone are the days of the town dump. Today’s landfills are technological marvels and have even become a reliable source for alternative energy as landfill gases are tapped and sold to businesses and municipalities.

Yes, the city dumps have been replaced by landfills, like Wal-Mart does to little stores. They move in and force the little guy out.

And that is also what has happened to the churches. More-and-more Christian Churches are becoming Liberal Christian Churches and God is not a liberal.

In other words, those 250 million tons of trash created every year can be seen as 250 million sins per day.

Jesus told us not many people would going to heaven, this includes from the beginning of time.

“Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it” (Matt 7:13-14).

“He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.

But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death” (Rev 21:7-8).3. Three Future Events

Going by the following scripture, the new heaven, the new Jerusalem, is about the size of the United States.

“And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates.

And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof.

4. HellAnd the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal.

And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel.

And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass” (Rev 21:1-2, 13-18).

Jesus tells us that He is making a place for us in heaven:

“Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you” (Jn 14:1-2).
