From the Beginning

“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him” (Jas 1:5).

“Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding;

Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.

For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding” (Prov 2:3 & 5-6).

“And now, O LORD my God, thou hast made thy servant king instead of David my father: and I am but a little child: I know not how to go out or come in.

Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this thy so great a people?

And the speech pleased the Lord, that Solomon had asked this thing.

And God said unto him, Because thou hast asked this thing, and hast not asked for thyself long life; neither hast asked riches for thyself, nor hast asked the life of thine enemies; but hast asked for thyself understanding to discern judgment;

Behold, I have done according to thy words: lo, I have given thee a wise and an understanding heart; so that there was none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like unto thee” (1 Kg 3:7 & 9-12).

“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding” (Prov 9:10).

The Trinity

“But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him” (1 Cor 8:6).

“I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty” (Rev 1:8).

“Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come” (Jn 16:13).

“Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort” (2 Cor 1:3).

“For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one (1 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one” (1 Jn 5:7).

The Trinity does not make since to us, it even seems farfetched and impossible, and for us it is.  Yet, nothing is impossible for God.

“For with God nothing shall be impossible” (Lk 1:37).

The Trinity is one of them things which we are not to comprehend fully:

“And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power” (Act 1:7).

But we are to accept it in faith.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him” (Heb 11:1 & 6).

The Devil and his Demons

“And the angels, which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.

Even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire” (Jud 6 & 7).

“For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment” (2 Pet 2:4).

“That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.

There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bear children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown” (Gen 6:2 & 4).

Note: It is possible for angels, fallen or not, to impregnate a human, but it is suspect.  Simply because angels do not have sex organs (Matt 22:30).

A demon, or many at one time, can enter a person’s body (Lk 8:29-30), so it is possible that they entered a man and when he impregnated the woman the demon’s stature affected the size of the birth.

I have nothing to base this one, this is just a thought.

The Devil is Evil

“…Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thine heart is lifted up, and thou hast said, I am a God, I sit in the seat of God, in the midst of the seas; yet thou art a man, and not God, though thou set thine heart as the heart of God” (Ez 28:2).

“Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou hast set thine heart as the heart of God; Behold, therefore I will bring strangers upon thee, the terrible of the nations: and they shall draw their swords against the beauty of thy wisdom, and they shall defile thy brightness.

They shall bring thee down to the pit, and thou shalt die the deaths of them that are slain in the midst of the seas.  Wilt thou yet say before him that slayeth thee, I am God?  But thou shalt be a man, and no God, in the hand of him that slayeth thee.  Thou shalt die the deaths of the uncircumcised by the hand of strangers: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord GOD” (Ez 38:6-10).

“Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.

Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.

By the multitude of thy merchandise, they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore, I will cast thee as Profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.

Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee” (Ez 28:14-17).

“Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffic; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee.

All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more” (Ez 28:18-19).

“How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning!  How art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.

They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms; That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners?” (Is 14:12-17).

Why would the producers say that Obama doesn’t look like the actor? He does and you can’t argue with pictures.

Daily Mail (UK): Why does the devil in ‘The Bible’ look exactly like President Obama?
Separated at birth: Satan and Obama

The resemblance between Moroccan actor Mehdi Ouazzani (left) and President Obama left some viewers of ‘The Bible’ taking to Twitter to express their amazement

Story here.
We are not troubled by the fact that an actor who plays Satan looks like Obama, but rather, by the fact that Obama resembles Satan. In more ways than one.

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places” (Eph 6:12).

The producers of the US cable TV miniseries on the Bible say internet chatter that their Satan character resembles President Barack Obama is “utter nonsense.”

Mark Burnett and Roma Burnett say the Moroccan actor who played Satan in the History channel series, Mehdi Ouzaani, has played Satanic characters in other Biblical programs long before Obama was elected president.

The connection got widespread attention after talk show host Glenn Beck last week tweeted: “Does Satan look EXACTLY like Obama? Yes!”

History said in a statement that the network has “the highest respect” for Obama, and that “it’s unfortunate that anyone made this false connection.”

“Both Mark and I have nothing but respect and love our president, who is a fellow Christian,” said Downey, the Touched By an Angel actress who is married to Burnett.

“False statements such as these are just designed as a foolish distraction to try and discredit the beauty of the story of the Bible.”

Satan

“He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning.  For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil” (1 Jn 3:8).

“Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do.  He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him.  When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it” (Jn 8:44).

“…Beelzebub the prince of the devils” (Matt 12:24).

“Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience” (Eph 2:2).

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour” (1 Pet 5:8).

Angels

For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him” (Col 1:16).

“…an innumerable company of angels” (Heb 12:22).

‘And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying” (Lk 2:13).

“And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see.  And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha” (2 Kg 6:17).

“Whereas angels, which are greater in power and might, bring not railing accusation against them before the Lord” (2 Pet 2:11).

“Bless the LORD, ye his angels that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word” (Ps 103:20).

“Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire” (Ps 104:4).

“Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.

And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him” (Lk 22:42-43).

“Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?” (Heb 1:14).

The Holy Ghost

“And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep.  And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters” (Gen 1:2).

“And I pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever.  Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you” (Jn 14:16-17).

“But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you” (Jn 14:26).

“Him (Jesus) hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a savior, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.  And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him” (Act 5:31-32).

“How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil, for God was with him” (Act 10:38).

Power

“But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy), Arise, take p thy bed, and go unto thine house.  But when the multitudes saw it, they marveled, and glorified God, which had given such power unto man” (Matt 9:6 & 8).

“And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth” (Matt 28:18).

“These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify they Son, that they Son also may glorify thee: as thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.  And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent” (Jn 17:1-3).

“Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.  No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself.  I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again.  This commandment have I received from my Father” (Jn 10:17-18).

“Then saith Pilate unto him, Speaketh thou not unto me?  Knowest thou not that I have power to crucify thee, and have power to release thee?  Jesus answered, Thou couldest have no power at all against me, except it were given thee from above.  Therefore he that delivered me unto thee hath the greater sin” (Jn 19:10-11).

Resurrection

“And while they abode in Galilee, Jesus said unto them, The Son of man shall be betrayed into the hands of men: And they shall kill him, and the third day he shall be raised again.  And they were exceeding sorry” (Matt 17:22-23).

“Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.  And when Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, and laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock: And he rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulcher, and departed” (Matt 27:50 & 59-60).

“In the end of the Sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulcher.  And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it” (Matt 28:1-2).

“And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not: for I know that, ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.  He is not here: for he is risen, as he said.  Come; see the place where the Lord lay.  And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you” (Matt 28:5-7).
