I could never understand how some people can believe that You exist, but not Satan. I can understand why people can may not believe in either of you two, I was like that at one time, but I was a kid then, I wasn’t even 12 years old yet.
Once you see all that’s in the world, how our bodies work, flowers, insects, trees, everything, you have to know that somebody much greater than us created it.
I understand why You created us, I kind of do, but then again, no, I don’t. People with kids might understand why You made us. But I do know that You created everything (Jn 1:3), even evil (Isa 45:7), which is understandable because for You to give us freewill You have to give us knowledge of everything, which You have done.
What I don’t understand is why You are going to let Satan out after 1,000 years (Rev 20:3). But Jesus said we aren’t supposed to know everything.
And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons which the Father hath put in his own power (Acts 1:7).
__________
1 Awake, awake; put on thy strength, O Zion; put on thy beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city: for henceforth there shall no more come into thee the uncircumcised and the unclean.
2 Shake thyself from the dust; arise, and sit down, O Jerusalem: loose thyself from the bands of thy neck, O captive daughter of Zion.
3 For thus saith the LORD, Ye have sold yourselves for nought; and ye shall be redeemed without money.
4 For thus saith the Lord GOD, My people went down aforetime into Egypt to sojourn there; and the Assyrian oppressed them without cause.
5 Now therefore, what have I here, saith the LORD, that my people is taken away for nought? They that rule over them make them to howl, saith the LORD; and my name continually every day is blasphemed.
“My name…blasphemed” – the captivity brought disrespect to God because it appeared that the pagan gods of other nations were more powerful (Eze 36:20-23).
6 Therefore my people shall know my name: therefore they shall know in that day that I am he that doth speak: behold, it is I.
7 How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!
“Feet of him that bringeth good tidings” – a reference to a messenger who ran form the scene of a battle to bring news of the outcome to a waiting king and people. Here the news refers to the return from exile, a deliverance that prefigures Christ’s deliverance from sin (see Rom 10:15; Eph 6:15).
8 Thy watchmen shall lift up the voice; with the voice together shall they sing: for they shall see eye to eye, when the LORD shall bring again Zion.
9 Break forth into joy, sing together, ye waste places of Jerusalem: for the LORD hath comforted his people, he hath redeemed Jerusalem.
10 The LORD hath made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.
“Holy arm” – God’s arm is often associated with redemption and salvation.
11 Depart ye, depart ye, go ye out from thence, touch no unclean thing; go ye out of the midst of her; be ye clean, that bear the vessels of the LORD.
12 For ye shall not go out with haste, nor go by flight: for the LORD will go before you; and the God of Israel will be your rereward.
13 Behold, my servant shall deal prudently, he shall be exalted and extolled, and be very high.
14 As many were astonied at thee; his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men:
15 So shall he sprinkle many nations; the kings shall shut their mouths at him: for that which had not been told them shall they see; and that which they had not heard shall they consider.
Where is the Devil Right Now?
Some people think Satan is in hell at this time, but the Bible doesn’t say that, it says in due time he will spend eternity in the Lake of Fire.
And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormente4d day and night forever and ever (Rev 20:10).
And this is also where non-believers will go:
And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire (Rev 20:14-15). Also see Rev. 21: 7-8, 22:12-15, 18-19.
* * *
The book of Revelation is written by the Apostle John in a vision that God gives him. It tells what happened to Satan in heaven before we even existed and it tells what happens to him and all non-believers in the end.
And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the keys of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.
And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he is must be loosed a little season (Revelation 20:1-3).
Some Bible students think this binding of Satan happened sometime in the past, I don’t’ think so unless God gives him furloughs because Satan can still go to heaven where God is:
Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them.
And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it (Job 1:6).
I take that as Satan can go anywhere he chooses to go, including inside the earth. But not all of his demons/fallen angels are free to travel; they are already locked up for good. Yet, angels are so powerful they can probably still do damage to people from their prison cells, until they too will be thrown into the Lake of Fire with Satan.
And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day (Jude 6).
The reason I believe Satan can go wherever he chooses, including other planets, and other universes, and that the fallen angels, at least some of them, can still use their evil powers against us is because of the following scripture:
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the rulers of this darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in the high places (Eph 6:12).
Also, Peter warned us that Satan is here on earth filled with hatred towards us:
Be sober, be vigilant; because the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour (1 Pet 5:8).
How do you feel about it when people go to the doctor when they are sick, instead of relying on You?
