Revelation 10 – John Eats the Book & False Prophets, Teachers and Leaders in the Laodicean Age

Finger Pointing UpIf you want to be saved and live with Jesus for eternity, dismiss ALL religions, including Christianity, and cling to the Bible.  If you ask He will direct you:

“I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.

Be ye not as the horse, or as the mule, which have no understanding: whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, lest they come near unto thee.1 The Unpardonable Sin

Many sorrows shall be to the wicked: but he that trusteth in the Lord, mercy shall compass him about” (Ps 32”8-10).

What is your preference, to have absolute salvation and live in peace for eternity, or do you have high hopes like the devil did at one time? (Is 14:12-19; Eze 28:1-19).

Something I learned about You Father when I was in prison, that I don’t have to do anything but trust You and You take care of it everything for me.

Realize everybody, we have a God that will do anything and everything for us and we don’t have to do anything but be like Him, as spirits of course, we can’t be gods.

In case your preference was the latter, I’m going to show you where to go to acquire this gift.  Tomorrow we’ll look at…

Revelation 10
John Eats the Book

2 John eats the book
A voice from heaven tells Saint John to take the book from the mighty angel, the winged figure in the center.
The mighty angel holding the book then instructs John to eat it and to “prophesy again to many nations, and peoples, and tongues, and kings.”

To convey the sense of the sequence of events in the miniature, the illuminator repeated the figure of Saint John three times.

1 And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud: and a rainbow was upon his head, and his face was as it were the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire:

“Mighty Angel” – perhaps the angel of 5:2.

“Rainbow” – the rainbow became a sign of God’s pledge never to destroy the earth again by a flood (Gen 9:8-17).

“Feet as pillars of fire” – since the exodus supplies background for this central part of Revelation this feature may recall the pillars of fire and cloud that guided (Ex 13:21-22) and protected (Ex 14:19, 24) the Israelites during their wilderness journey.

2 And he had in his hand a little book open: and he set his right foot upon the sea, and his left foot on the earth,

“Little book” – not the same as the book of destiny in chapter 5, since that book was intended to reveal its contents and this book was to be eaten.  Furthermore, the term “little book” sets this particular book off from all others.

“Right foot upon the sea…left foot on the earth” – indicates his tremendous size and symbolizes that his coming has to do with the destiny of all creation.

3 And cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roareth: and when he had cried, seven thunders uttered their voices.

4 And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not.

“Sealed up” – in Dan 8:26, 12:4, 9 the prophecies are sealed until the last times, when they will be opened.  What the seven thunders said will not be revealed until their proper time.

3 Mystery of od
Faith begins with the apprehension that there is an unseen presence, a transcendence beyond the range of the human senses.
This conviction may come when we walk along a dark path that is illuminated by the light of the moon and stars. It can come when we stand by the seaside listening to the crashing of the waves.

A farmer standing in a field of wheat on the Canadian prairies may quietly believe that the abundance is not simply a product of his work and machinery. There is an apprehension of a loving God.

5 And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven,

6 And sware by him that liveth forever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer:

“Time no longer” – this does not mean that time will no longer exist, but that there should be no more delay in the judgment.

7 But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.

“Mystery of God” – in apocalyptic thought mysteries were secrets preserved in heaven and revealed to the apocalyptist.  Here the mystery is that God won the victory over the forces of evil and will reign forever and ever.

8 And the voice which I heard from heaven spake unto me again, and said, Go and take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel which standeth upon the sea and upon the earth.

9 And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book. And he said unto me, Take it, and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey.

10 And I took the little book out of the angel’s hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter.

“In my mouth sweet as honey” – God’s eternal purposes will experience no further delay – the “good news.”

“My belly was bitter” – the message of the little book will involve suffering – the “bad news” for the non-believers.

11 And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings.

False Prophets, Teachers and Leaders
in the Laodicean Age

4 The Church of Laodicea
The Message to the Laodicean Church Represents the Condition of the Church in this Seventh and Last Age in Which We Now Live.
The name, Laodicea, means, “the people’s rights”. This in itsel
This is an Age when the vast majority of individuals and groups of individuals demand “their rights”.

This city was one of the most politically important and financially flourishing cities in Asia Minor. The Age in which we now live is constantly feeding on Political and financial news and forecasts – the dollar is their god and Politics is their Master.

Laodicea was the seat of a great medical school. Its people were distinguished in the arts and sciences. It was often called the “metropolis” as it was the county seat, for twenty-five other cities.

The Age in which we live is distinguished above and beyond all others for it’s great medical schools, it’s Universities, the arts, sciences and Computer technology.

The prophet Daniel was surely speaking of this Age when he said “MANY shall run to and fro and Knowledge shall be increased”(Dan 12:4 [Open in Logos Bible Software (if available)] ).

The pagan god worshiped in Laodicea was Zeus. In fact this city was once called Diopolis (City of Zeus) in honor of their god.

In the fourth century an important church council was held there. The faith of the Christians in Laodicea was challenged by the influence of education, politics, prosperity and the customs of pagan religion.

The Age in which we live has been challenged by the same forces. The Laodicean Church was deceived and fell from Grace to disgrace – as the Scripture reference in Rev. 3:14-22 [Open in Logos Bible Software (if available)] prove. Frequent earthquakes finally, caused its complete abandonment.

How fitting were the characteristics of this last age to represent the age in which we now live.

For example, they worshiped one god, Zeus, who was the chief and father of the gods.

This pointed to the twentieth century “one God, father-of-us-all” religious premise that sets forth the brotherhood of man, and is even now bringing together the Protestants, Catholics, Jews, Hindus, etc. with the intent that a mutual form of worship will increase our love, understanding, and care of each other.

The Catholics and Protestants are even now striving for, and actually gaining ground in this un
ion with the avowed intent that all others will follow.

This very attitude was seen in the United Nations Organization when the world leaders refused to recognize any one individual concept of spiritual worship but recommended putting aside all those separate concepts with the hopes that all religions become leveled into one, for all desire the same goals, all have the same purposes and all are basically right.

Notice the name, Laodicea, “the people’s rights,” or “justice of the peoples.” Was there ever an age like the twentieth century church age that has seen ALL nations rising up and demanding equality, socially and financially?

This is the age of the communists where all men are supposedly equal, though it is only so in theory.

This is the age of political parties, who call themselves Christian Democrats, and Christian Socialists, Christian Commonwealth Federation, etc.

According to our liberal theologians Jesus was a socialist and the early church under the guidance of the Spirit practiced socialism, and thus we ought to do so today.

When the ancients called Laodicea the metropolis it was looking forward to the one-world government that we are now setting up.

As we think of that city being the location of a great church council we see foreshadowed the ecumenical move taking place today, wherein very soon we will see all the “so-called” Christians come together.

Indeed, the church and state, religion and politics are coming together. The tares are being bound. The wheat will soon be ready for the garner.
It was a city of earthquakes; such earthquakes as finally destroyed it. This age will end in God shaking the whole world that has gone off to make love with the old harlot (which we will talk about in chapter 17).

Not only will world systems crumble, but the very earth will be shaken and then renovated for the millennial reign of Christ.

The city was rich, endowed by the wealthy. It was full of culture. Science abounded. How like today. The churches are rich. The worship is beautiful and formal, but cold and dead.

Culture and education have taken the place of the Spirit-given Word, and faith has been superseded by science, so that man is a victim of materialism.

In every attribute ancient Laodicea is found reborn in the twentieth-century Laodicean Age. In the mercy of God, may those who have an ear to hear come out of her that they be not partakers of her sins and the consequent judgment – William Branham.

The Laodicea Church was the last of the seven churches talked about in the Book of Revelation 3:14-19.

It is evident that we are living in times when absolute truth is no longer regarded as the basis for a statement or a lifestyle.

Truth is no longer an absolute; it is now a relative term used to suit the whims of many people and their personal opinions, lifestyles or private interpretations.

It is no longer, “this is a fact that comes from the Bible; therefore, we need to live go by it”.  It is now, “you have your beliefs and I have mine, so what is good for you is your own truth, but I have mine”.

I am unable to find that sentence in my Bible, KJV, but I believe the following scripture is what Mr. Schaefer is talking about:

“Now therefore fear the Lord, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the Lord.

And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord” (Josh 24:14-15).

Joshua was the man that took over after Moses died.

Biblical Truth used to be a revered, respected, authoritative foundation that churches and society in general would base their lives on as to what was acceptable or not; people didn’t have trouble knowing right from wrong because there were absolutes society lived by instead of a worldview where “truth” is whatever happens to be your own reality.

Thus, we have been reduced to an unhealthy society that is experiencing so many family problems, violence, immorality, sickness, laxity, materialism, and so on.  Of course, there have always been problems in society to some degree; but why does it seem that now, in this day and age, we are dealing with so much chaos in our world?

This is all true, but I would like add to Schaefer’s list: divorce, abortion rampant, atheism is picking up speed, homosexuality has its foothold in America, and due to technology laziness has become a hobby for many.

And due to laziness, look at how fat the world has become, especially the United States.

Why are so many churches in our world declining in attendance? Standards have relaxed with regard to many Christians becoming worldly and engaging in worldly activities; marriage and divorce are rampant amongst Christians; there is less reverence for or desire to study the Bible; less or no time with God.

The quality of family life has become less important as family members are too busy making money, pursuing materialism and other pursuits than being centered on their relationship with God.

The result of this type of decline is a society that calls evil good and good evil.

And that is not a good thing, it angers God greatly:

“Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!” (Is 5:20).

Not only that, we now have churches that are preaching falsehoods, watered-down gospels, non-offensive messages that appeal to the lost instead of convicting them, ecumenism and the desire to be all-inclusive with non-believers.

Assorted cults that are on the rise and we now have all sorts of entertainment that has replaced expository preaching, which often features “Christian Rock” type of music that is sensual to the flesh and tickles the ears instead of glorifying our wonderful God.

Not all Christian Rock is bad, “I Can Only Imagine,” by MercyMe for example is good.

Churches are now resorting to these schemes in order to fill their church pews and bring in more money.  More and more churches are guilty of not properly feeding their flocks, and, because of this, their people are ignorant, undiscerning, worldly, misled, deceived, and not Christ-like.

The rest of society could care less about the Bible, church, or worshiping God.  It is sadly apparent that the Bible is no longer respected and regarded as authoritative and life-giving for one’s life, but whatever is relative or according to what the current culture will tolerate.

America, as a nation, used to be governed by Christian principles.  Since then, we have strayed far from obeying God by tolerating and accepting a worldview that is God-dishonoring.

We now accept homosexuality and same-sex marriage as OK as well as homosexual church leadership into some denominations (that has caused many problems), when this practice was once shunned by decent people and it was never questioned as being sinful.

We have relaxed our standards considerably regarding dress standards, music, television and the way we talk, to the extent we are no longer viewed by surrounding communities as holy people who are special to God, but just like them.

We have also catered to the demands of atheists, Islamic, the ACLU, abortionists, feminists, and all sorts of ungodly practices and opinions.  Yet there is intolerance for anything Christian and true.

And we certainly have to thank Rhonda Byrne and Oprah for pushing and promoting “The New Age.”

Blood-bought Christians are targeted as hateful people and mocked as ignorant, bigoted, hypocrites or worse.  The Bible has also been taken out of government and schools, being banned as “hate literature”, resulting in an ungodly system with multiple problems in decision-making or bad behavior.

It is a tragedy that America, in particular, has gotten so far away from God because its leaders and preachers have allowed this breakdown in society and relaxed its standards through the “feel good”, counterfeit, social gospel and other dangerous doctrines or practices that are being so widely accepted.

America has slowly been going downhill, and it began before I was even born.  But it started moving a bit faster in the 80s and really picked up speed when Old Man Bush was elected as president.

What passes for Christianity in today’s post-modern world has been reduced to a phony, personal success/prosperity trip with numerous man-made programs and schemes employed to “grow a church”.   By contrast, the true purpose of the Christian Church is the following:

1) The assembling of ourselves with like-minded believers to encourage each other in our Christian Walk:

“Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching” (Heb 10:25).

“And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified” (Acts 20:32).

2) Corporate worship of God in Spirit and in Truth (that means knowing Him through a right heart attitude).

“But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth” (Jn 4:23-24).

3) Being properly equipped by preaching and teaching to carry out the Great Commission to share the Biblical Gospel [Jesus Christ] and make disciples:

“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

5 Absolutely Obama is one
Absolutely, Obama is one example.
We are living in perverse times where the scripture is being fulfilled that says that they will call evil good and good evil.

“Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! (Is 5:20 [Open in Logos Bible Software (if available)] ).

That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works” (2 Tim 3:16-17).

And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature (Mk 16:15).

Those in leadership positions, whether in government, schools, churches, business, or wherever, are responsible and set the tone for everything and everybody under them.  When they mess up, everyone else messes up.

“Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel, prophesy, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God unto the shepherds; Woe be to the shepherds of Israel that do feed themselves! should not the shepherds feed the flocks?” (Eze 34:2).

God will have His final say to these people on Judgment Day.

Evil Evangelists

There are many reports of well-known Evangelical leaders who have connections to:

* Freemasonry (which has occultic roots),

* the Illuminati (also occultic) and

* Rev. Sun Myung Moon (a cult leader).

6 Illuminati Who Brought it to America
The Illuminati in America
Q: Svali, one of the more important points, which I am sure a lot of readers would like to know more about, is, what is the Illuminati /Freemason connection, as far as you are aware of, given your previous position in the Illuminati? Also, was there and is there an infiltration of the Masonic Order?
A: The Freemasons and the Illuminati are hand in glove. I don’t care if this steps on any toes, it’s a fact.
The masonic temple at Alexandria, Virginia (the city itself was named after Alexandria, Egypt, and is a hotbed of Illuminati activity) is a center in the Washington, DC area for Illuminati scholarship and teaching.

I was taken there at intervals for testing, to step up a level, for scholarship, and high ceremonies. The leaders in this masonic group were also Illuminists.

This has been true of every large city I have lived in. The top Freemasons were also top Illuminists. My maternal grandparents were both high ranking Masons in the city of Pittsburgh, Pa. (president of the Eastern Star and 33rd degree Mason) and they both were also leaders in the Illuminati in that area.

Q: What exactly is the meaning of the pyramid on the back of the $1 U.S. note? I’m talking about the pyramid with the capstone detached and hovering above the rest of the pyramid, containing the ‘All-Seeing-Eye’. Is this a Masonic or Illuminati symbol?

A: The pyramid and the “eye of Horus” on the back of the dollar bill are Illuminati symbology. The pyramid is an ancient form based on the holiness of the number 3 to the ancient mystery religions (it, not 6, is considered the most spiritual number), and a pyramid was a structure used specifically to call up the demonic, or occult, a point of psychic activity.

The eye is the all seeing eye of Horus, the emphasis on Egyptian magical religious practices, the book of the undead, etc.

This eye is considered a demonic eye in the group, or the eye of the deity and in Illuminati mythology is either open or closed, depending upon the spiritual time of year and the state of the person psychically.

Young children are given “psychic surgery” where the eye is placed inside, and they are told that Horus will snatch their soul if they ever try to leave, or if they tell, or that the eye will explode. The symbol on the dollar is reinforcement for every Illuminati child who sees one, and the reminder that they are being watched.

The saying on the dollar, ‘Novus Ordo Seclorum’ also means “bringing in the new order”, which is the Illuminati stated agenda. Just think, in the early 1800’s, our forefathers already were looking forward to when the new order would be ushered in.

Q: How far back in time does the concept / cult of the Illuminati go? It seems to me that they have been around quite some time, possibly since antiquity, guiding, steering and using humanity for their own purposes, operating under different names? Can you elaborate?

A: I was taught that the Illuminati had its roots in the ancient practices that reach into the beginning of recorded time; that the Babylonians on the plains created ziggurats to their deities, whom the Illuminati worship.

They were proud of the fact that it was supposedly an unbroken occult line from then until now. The names changed, the basic group was the same.

The ancient mystery religions of Egypt, heart o

f dark magic were another forerunner, with adherents of Set, Osiris, Horus and Ra; and the Illuminists also believe their bloodlines have come down from the ancient kings of Egypt.

They are the very ones who are leading unsuspecting Christians down the wrong path.

Many Christians or those seeking God have flocked to stadiums, TV stations or the radio, eager to hear these “wonderful preachers” preach what looks like a true evangelistic message, but is really a subtlety of lies and falsehood that can kill a soul!

These preachers, who have a lot of influence on their followers, are actually leading unsuspecting people right into the New World Order of the Antichrist.

When the Antichrist does appear on the scene, the whole world will be prepared and ready to accept him!

Jesus said:

“Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves” (Matt 7:15).

It is not my intention here to condemn any individuals, as that is God’s authority, but rather the poisonous messages and doctrines they support or have come to support.  Here are examples:

The New Evangelicalism:

The Fundamentalist-modernist controversy set the stage for New Evangelicalism.  This goes back two centuries in Europe, particularly Germany.

In the dawn of the “scientific era”, anti-Christian thinkers such as Darwin, Hegel, and Marx led the movement to dethrone God and replace Him with man.

The result was that the Bible was considered only a human book devised by uninspired human writers, and was put on the same par as Shakespeare.  Jesus Christ was also considered a mere man and not deity, the Second Person of the Trinity.  So Modernism spread quickly.

The Emergent Church:

This movement is appealing to mainly the younger people, but is not confined to those in a younger age group.

Brian McClaren’s emerging church philosophy is based on mystical experiences and a re-invention of Christianity in order to provide meaning for the younger generation.

The problem with this is the authority of the Word of God is being undermined in favor of man-made schemes or methods of relating to God.

So what happens is that images and sensual experiences are being promoted as the key to experiencing and knowing God, rather than adhering to what the Holy Bible says in its teachings about who God really is.

These EC experiences include things like staring at Icons, praying in front of candles or prayer stations, using incense as a means of creating a spiritual mood, the use of liturgy to make the church more dynamic, contemplative prayer as a means of getting in “touch with God”, understanding the sacraments, particularly the sacrament of the Eucharist when Jesus shows up on the altar and can be worshiped and adored.

Sound like Roman Catholicism?  See the section below on Roman Catholicism and the Eucharist.

Purpose-Driven Churches/Church Growth Movement:

The following was found as a posting by “Linda” on the Rapture News discussion forum on Rick Warren that says it all, at least to me.  I have made only minor corrections in spelling and have added two bolded phrases below:

Rick Warren’s doctrine is not rooted soundly in the scriptures; it is a combination of scripture mixed with Jungian Psychology and business success strategy as taught by Napoleon Hill and Andrew Carnage 100 years ago and made famous by Peter Drucker in this time.

The Scripture teaches that we are not to lean on our own understanding, but on the WORD of God and that our doctrines should come from the scripture.

“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths” (Prov. 3:5-6).

Warren’s mixture of the scripture with the wisdom of men leads him to a faulty view of man and of God.

Warren would assert that if you are good at and like art then your purpose in life must be to use art to serve God.

When in reality the scriptures show that when God chooses to use man for HIS purpose, he often chooses a man that could not possibly do what God would have him do except that God made it possible.

Moses, who could not speak well, God used to speak to Pharaoh and to lead the people out of Egypt, is but one example.

God does not desire us to be purpose driven, but Spirit led.

God does not desire us to be self-sufficient but self-weak and God strong.

God does not seek men who will work for God, but men who will die (to themselves) and let God work through them.

“What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?

God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?” (Rom. 6:1-2).

We are not here to find our purpose in this life…we are here to surrender to HIS purpose for our lives, which have become HIS life.

Rick Warren teaches that deeds are more important than creeds or doctrines; that the works of men are the solution to society’s ills, that the purpose of the church on earth is to work in the name of God; and that all men come together and can do the work of God regardless of their creeds.

7 But there were false prophets
“But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction” (2 Pet 2:1 [Open in Logos Bible Software (if available)] ).
“And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;

I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.

So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth” (Rev 3:14-16 [Open in Logos Bible Software (if available)] )

In 2009, Rick Warren, founder and pastor of Saddleback Community Church in Orange County California, addressed the convention of the Islamic Society of North America.

Warren stated that Muslims and Christians must work together to combat stereotypes, promote peace and freedom, and solve global problems.

Christians and Muslims – faith mates, soul mates and now work mates! Chrislam!

Rick Warren teaches that the spiritual success of a church is measured in the number of people that sit in its pews on any given Sunday.

The Scripture teaches that the spiritual success of a church is measured in its faithful obedience to God and its demonstrating HIS will and exhibiting HIS fruit. God measures success in terms of quality and not quantity.

Rick Warren teaches tithing and requires written pledge as a condition of church membership.

Word-of-Faith Teachers:

The WOF movement is rooted in greed, emotionalism, humanistic psychology and fantasy.

They look at Jesus as a cosmic vending machine or a Santa Claus; they seek many “signs and wonders”, lots of money, supernatural healings, tongues, and the like.

In truth, this system of belief is pure apostasy and New Age, and it’s based on lies, pride and deception rather than the Bible.

Their programs, which they claim are of the Holy Spirit, are often characterized by pandemonium and outrageous claims that are completely unbiblical.

Instead of order and decency (which is truly of the Holy Spirit), there is complete chaos and sometimes people are totally out of control.  It is often an emotionally charged, circus atmosphere.

They are taught to despise the fundamentalism of Scripture and accept a half-baked gospel that only promotes the “positive” aspects while rejecting the essential elements that make up the whole Gospel.

Those who preach and promote WOF are false teachers who secretly bring in destructive heresies.

“But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.

And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not” (2 Pet. 2:1-3).

Liberal Christian Denominations:

There are several denominations that have become or have been liberal and apostate.  What has happened is some of them:

8 Liberal Christians
Liberal Christians.
So what does the term “liberal Christian” mean?
Liberal Christian is an umbrella term for any liberal member of the many Protestant denominations, or churches within denominations, who view the Bible as the witness of God rather than the word of God, to be interpreted in its historical context through critical analysis, and with a focus on Jesus’ statements on peace, justice, fairness, compassion and love.

Liberal Christians come from a vast array of denominations – including Anglican, Episcopalian, Lutheran, Methodist, Presbyterian, United Church of Christ – and yes, even Baptist.

Not all Liberal Christians, believe the same exact things. For example, beliefs vary from the literal to the symbolic belief in Jesus Christ as God’s incarnation.
Most believe that the Bible’s account is primarily symbolic, that God created the scientific laws and the very fundamental processes of the universe and of all life (e.g. Evolution), which are continually being revealed by modern science.

They believe in God, faith, science and evolution.

Most of them do not believe that humanity inherited original sin from Adam and Eve or that Satan actually exists.

But, they do believe that God is good and made people inherently good – and in that vein, they believe in free will and recognize our imperfect nature, which leads some of them to become immoral, illegal and even practice evil behavior.

Even though the Liberal Christian Church may disagree with individuals’ choices regarding abortion, homosexuality and so forth, they are tolerant of other’s choices and personal life decisions.

Liberal Christians, hold as sacred the core and unchanging teachings of Christ – as portrayed in His Sermon on the Mount – as the primary, central, true, sufficient and compelling basis of all right understanding and right conduct for liberal Christians.

This means that what is most important is how they show their faith and conduct their lives here and now on earth. Many of them believe that their salvation lies in doing good works and no harm to others, regardless of faith.

In other words, a Liberal Christian is a mixture of The New Age and the Catholics, or as Jesus would tell them:

“Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it” (Jn 8:44 [Open in Logos Bible Software (if available)] ).

Or…
“I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan” (Rev 2:9 [Open in Logos Bible Software (if available)] ).

* are voting practicing homosexuals into their leadership and performing “gay” weddings,

* question the Trinity and other core Christian beliefs,

* practice infant baptism (Catholic-like liturgy and practices),

* accepting women into the Pastorate, are no longer allied with the support of Israel,

* they follow the current trend of Replacement Theology, which is a heretical eschatological belief.

* they have a distorted, watered-down view of who Jesus is and what the Atonement is.

Most liberal churches view the Bible as an errant book that is not relevant for today. The liberal churches have to some extent replaced doctrine, the Bible, and hymns with entertainment that appeals to the flesh and the senses.

Roman Catholicism:

This religion is steeped in “Christianized” paganism (which stems from the Babylonian goddess Ishtar), man-made traditions, Mariolatry, purgatory, confession, saint-worship, prayers for the dead, priestly absolution, and spurious sacraments.

Doctrine of the Mass denies the all-sufficiency of the sacrifice of Christ and His finished work on the Cross – the Atonement, which is totally opposite of what the Scriptures teach.

The Eucharist is celebrated as a sacrifice that is performed over and over, in which the true elements of Communion that was instituted by Jesus as a remembrance of His atonement, are distorted and treated as a Transubstantiation of Christ’s body and blood.

This is rank heresy and belief in this doctrine can only damn a soul as it waters down Christ’s atonement for our sin and is cause for such confusion when Jesus says things like<

“And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

I am that bread of life” (Jn 6:35, 48).

Does this mean He is a literal loaf of bread from heaven?!  I should think not!

No more than He is literally a vine.  But this is the confusion that is the result of Transubstantiation doctrine.

Catholic doctrine and the Eucharist imply that Christ’s atonement was not sufficient and that other “works” are needed.

A Catholic follower has no assurance of his or her salvation, and so the doctrine of purgatory is a man-made, corrupt invention as a “place” to send Catholic souls after death and with which the Catholic Church has profited tremendously.

The Mass tells of Christ’s sacrifice to the extreme but nothing about His resurrection.  This is a huge defect, because…

“And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins” (1 Cor 15:17).

Catholics are indoctrinated to put the Eucharist in place of Christ, which is wrong.  The Eucharist as a ritual cannot possibly save.

“For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God” (Rom 6:10).

Therefore, a man-made ritual like the Eucharist that emphasizes the sacrifice over and over through the doctrine of transubstantiation violates and adulterates the atonement of Christ, which was declared as “finished” when Jesus breathed his last breath, three days before He was resurrected.

“When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost” (Jn 19:30).

Catholicism is the doctrine of Mariolatry

The whole church is set up so that Mary is the one people idolize for salvation instead of Christ.  Mary is regarded as a perpetual virgin – wrong, she had other children after Jesus was born.

“And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name Jesus” (Matt 1:25).

“While he yet talked to the people, behold, his mother and his brethren stood without, desiring to speak with him.

9 Jesus was not and is not a liberal
Jesus was not and is not a liberal.
Abraham Lincoln once said, “I know that God is always on the side of right; my concern is not whether God is on our side but whether or not we are on God’s side.”

Most who believe in God — and even many of those who see Him as being just a symbol — like to think that they are marching hand in hand with Him when promoting that for which they have passion.

But Lincoln’s point is well taken, for you can see that a group of people can be divided into two sub-groups: those who want to be on God’s side, and those who want God on theirs.

Jesus is not a liberal…He is genuinely compassionate!

God is not tolerant to sin, wickedness or perversion. Let’s take a look at things that God hates:

“These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:

A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,

An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,

A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren (Prov 6:16-19 [Open in Logos Bible Software (if available)] ).

Jesus isn’t a liberal, neither is the devil.

Jesus is a loving, compassionate God that accepts anyone into his home that obeys him, abides by His commandments.

The devil is a despot and of course, the father of all liberals and the like.

Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee” (Matt 12:46, 47).

She is treated as a co-redemptrix, which is total blasphemy because only Jesus Himself has the power to save a sinner, not a sinner who needed saving herself!

So the whole system of Catholicism is flawed from the inside out, and it is dangerous to follow these empty traditions.

Islam:

The fact that this religion is an aggressive and violent group whose sole purpose is to annihilate Israel and persecute or murder anyone outside its own group should be quite enough to tell us it is very dangerous and of the devil.

Yet, there are some who would be so naive as to say it is a religion of peace and that we all worship the same God!

Where on earth do people get this notion?

Rick Warren is trying to create a new religion – Chrislam, i.e., Christian + Muslim.

The Muslims deny Jesus as God and Savior. They believe a person called the “Mahdi” or “Twelfth Imam”, who they identify as their “messiah”, will return in two years to make a seven year peace treaty between Israel and the Palestinians! (Dan. 9:27).

Does this description remind you of anyone?  Hint: maybe it’s describing the Antichrist that we know.

This is what will lead the whole world into accepting the Antichrist and the New World Order.

Of course, genuine Christians will have been removed off the earth and into heaven by then so we won’t be dealing with that.  But imagine being caught in that kind of world of evil and wickedness!

Jehovah’s Witnesses:

This group was started in the 1800’s by Charles Taze Russell who came up with its various doctrines, probably patterned after the Seventh Day Adventists and the Christadelphians, among others.

It is governed by the “Watchtower” organization comprised of the production of their magazine and literature, a monthly quota and other legalistic rules the members have to rigidly follow.

Any so-called “infractions” of misconduct can lead to a high level of mental anguish and even banishment by the group.  They follow their own “bible” where a committee of unlearned, unscholarly men got together some years back and completely re-wrote the Bible, drastically distorting the Word of God (adding to and subtracting from)!

They deny the Trinity, Jesus’ physical resurrection, and His Deity while supporting the notion of annihilationism or soul sleep and salvation by a system of fleshly, man-made works.

Like the Christadelphians and the Seventh Day Adventists, they emphasize eschatology very heavily; and yet, with all their study and talk of the end times, they only understand a fraction of the real message, making it null and void.

10 Eleven Things About Jehovah’s Witnesses
Eleven Things About Jehovah’s Witnesses

11: Jehovah’s Witnesses Don’t Believe in the Trinity.
Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that the Holy Ghost is actually God’s “active force,” or energy, not a person. It’s also something that doesn’t get capitalized in their literature.

Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that Jesus is also a separate person from God, though he could be called a god in his own right. According to Jehovah’s Witnesses, God only made one thing on his own: Michael the Archangel!

Michael the Archangel made everything else in creation, from heaven to Earth, in accordance with God’s plan.

Even the angels were made by Michael. Later, Michael was sent to Earth and became Jesus. So while Jesus is awesome and everything his father is even more awesome in the eyes of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

10: Jehovah’s Witnesses Don’t Believe in a Literal Hell
Whenever your Bible talks about Hell, Jehovah’s Witnesses say it’s really talking about something else, like the grave.

Note that their Bible, the New World Translation, doesn’t use the word hell. It simply uses the original words in the biblical manuscripts, like Sheol or Gehenna, without bothering to translate them into English.

To Jehovah’s Witnesses, when most of us die, we simply die. At least until we’re resurrected. To them, none of us have a soul.

9: Only 144,000 Jehovah’s Witnesses Go To Heaven
There are about 7,000,000 Jehovah’s Witnesses worldwide right now.

Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that only the anointed Witnesses (who are also called the “Hundred-and-Forty-Four Thousand,” or “the Faithful and Discrete Slave class”) will go to Heaven to rule at Jesus’ side.

They will become “spirit creatures” in heaven, similar to the angels. In theory, it’s the still-living anointed “slave class” that has been delegated authority to run God’s earthly organization, The Watchtower Society.

Yet, there have been way more than a 144,000 Witnesses claiming to be anointed already and Armageddon isn’t even here yet! Apparently more than a few anointed were mistaken about being part of the Faithful and Discrete Slave. Of course, faking it could get you kicked out of any sort of paradise, so it’s not a smart move.

8: For Most Witnesses, Paradise Means an Eternity Spent On Earth
Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that the Earth will be restored to a paradise after Armageddon and that the human race will be “perfected.” All of this will take place over a thousand year period because we, as human beings, are just plain awful.

The task of perfecting us will be overseen by Jesus and the anointed. Once that’s complete, Jesus will hand the Earth and its inhabitants back over to Jehovah God’s ruler-ship.

7: Armageddon’s Coming, Mister! Or Maam
As stated earlier, Jehovah’s Witnesses don’t believe that bad people go to Hell when they die. Witnesses believe that the dead are unconscious, so threatening one of them with eternal hellfire isn’t really going to motivate him much. But many Witnesses will cringe at the mention of Armageddon.

When Armageddon comes only good Jehovah’s Witnesses will survive. Unless you’re one of them, it doesn’t matter if you’ve been a good person or not. Jesus will smite ye!

Yet being a Witness doesn’t guarantee that you’ll survive Armageddon either. You have to be an upstanding member of the religion.

If you are killed during Armageddon, that’s it for you. You’re dead and gone for good. Like the people of Noah’s day, it’s assumed that the world will be a raving cesspool of wickedness by that point and that every non-Witness alive will be deserving of death.

If you died before Armageddon, however, then you will probably be resurrected and reeducated by Armageddon survivors during Christ’s Millennial Reign.

In other words, Witnesses who survive into the Millennial Reign will teach the truth (their religion) to those who are resurrected. If resurrected ones reject these teachings, then they die all over again and that will be it for them too.

6: Jehovah’s Witnesses Believe That Other Religions Are Demonically Inspired
Jehovah’s Witnesses generally see other religions as an affront to God. All other religions are thought to have demonic origins.

Other religions are generally out there to mislead people and to draw them away from God’s one, true religion.

5: World Governments Are Under Demonic Control
Satan is the ruler of the world and it’s governments, so Jehovah’s Witnesses are not allowed to directly participate in politics or to serve in the military. Doing so would be like joining Satan himself.

That means Jehovah’s Witnesses don’t vote, will always find you innocent if they’re forced to serve in a jury (good to know), and view world governments as nothing more than a necessary evil until the beginning of Christ’s Millennial Reign.

All armies and human governments will be destroyed during Armageddon, so you don’t want to be a part of them when the big “A” hits…unless you’re a worldly person.

4: All Non-Witnesses Are Part Of Satan’s World
Jehovah’s Witnesses are strongly discouraged from forming strong ties to non-Witnesses, who are also referred to as nonbelievers or as “worldly people.”

This is because we worldly types are all part of Satan’s world, or “This System of Things.”

Whether you know it or not, you are Satan’s unwitting pawn. To Jehovah’s Witnesses, letting a worldly person into their lives represents a threat to their spirituality.

Witnesses are more than happy to convert us. But if a Witness invites you over to his house, it probably isn’t for the company. Expect to leave with a few magazines or at least a tract before you go.

3: Jehovah’s Witnesses Practice Disfellowshipping (Shunning)
You can think of disfellowshipping as a severe dose of excommunication with a dose of the cold shoulder treatment thrown on top.

If a Witness is disfellowshipped, he not only sacrifices any hope of living forever in a paradise Earth, he is also cut off from any form of communication with anyone who is still one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Even if they are members of his own family.

Any Witness who violates this rule by talking or eating with a disfellowshipped person runs the risk of being disfellowshipped himself.

When a Witness breaks protocol to communicate with a loved one who has been disfellowshipped, it usually happens in the form of a letter or an email.
Note that some congregations are more liberal than others and will allow some face time if the Witness gets permission from his elders.

2: Women Who Are Jehovah’s Witnesses Are Always in Subjugation To Men
Women are in subjugation to congregation elders (who are always male) and to their own fathers until the day they move our or get married.

Even then, they are forever in subjugation to their husbands and are to obey him out of respect for Jehovah’s arrangements and their husband’s “headship” over the family.

If a woman is required to take on a responsibility that only a male is normally allowed to carry out, she must wear a head covering. Any head covering, even a book held on top of her head, will do.

1: The Light Gets Brighter as the End Draws Near
In theory, Jehovah’s Witnesses are led by Jesus Christ, who has been delegated authority to lead them by Jehovah God.

In practice, they’re really led by a bunch of old guys from a place called Bethel, which is currently in New York.

These old guys are called the governing body, and their authority was delegated to them by Jesus.

Jesus, it is believed, is guiding the leaders toward the absolute truth in a very subtle, vague sort of way.

So subtle that the leaders make mistakes just like everybody else, including people who are not divinely inspired by Jesus.

The point is that “the truth,” as they understand it, is ever-changing, even though Jehovah and Jesus are not forever changing their minds.

These changes are often described as “new light” by the Society’s leaders and are not to be taken as a sign that their leaders are misguided.

Instead, it just means they get stuff wrong and Jehovah’s Witnesses shouldn’t let it bug them.

The light (or the truth) gets brighter as Armageddon draws near, my friends. So stop relying on your own understanding and trust Jehovah to make it clear in his own good time. These are things that real Jehovah’s Witnesses say.

Here is a site that shows 101 ridiculous beliefs of the Jehovah’s Witness.

Here’s a joke I was told:
One day the entire world was rampaged by tornadoes and when they all subsided there was only one type of person left alive – what type?

The Jehovah’s Witness because they are always standing at the door.

Mormons:

Like the Jehovah’s Witnesses, the Mormons were started in the 1800’s by a young lad by the name of Joseph Smith, who claimed to have found some tablets containing the “truth” of the Bible.

Their basic system of beliefs is based on unbiblical fantasies; they are pantheistic and other cults, like the Christadelphians, have borrowed many of these concepts to some degree (although they will deny it).

Really weird and twisted beliefs, one of which they teach that man has potential to become a god through some evolutionary process.

They also say that Jesus and Satan are brothers.

We haven’t had Christian president since Reagan.  The Bush’s call themselves Christians, but of their own order, i.e., “Cross and Bones.”

I think Clinton might want to be a true Christian, but he’d rather be a greedy pervert than please God.  Besides, he wasn’t the president anyway, Hillary was and she’s of the devil. Obama and his wife are into Marxism and are Muslims.

Moonies (Unification Church) (Sun Myung Moon):

Moon has proclaimed himself as the Messiah.  And his wife is the Holy Spirit!  Now there’s a false proclamation if there ever was one!

He and his wife, called The True Parents where he is the True Father and his wife the True Mother, are the first couple to be able to bring forth children with no original sin. “The cross is the symbol of the defeat of Christianity.”

Their “Divine Principles” state:

* Sin is genetically based.

* It is not a moral issue.

* The thieves on the cross represent political movements.

* The thief on the right side of Jesus represents democracy.

* The thief on the left of Jesus is communism.

* Adam and Eve fell because of sexual sin.

* Eve had sexual relations with Satan.

I have questioned that because I have read it in other places and the Bible does say’s in many places that people were children of the devil.  That could just be a figure of speech, but you never know.

Also, in Genesis it says:

“Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made…” (Gen 3:1)

The word subtle makes you wonder, because it came be taken as “seductive.”  But I’m not saying that Eve had sex with the devil because angels don’t have the proper equipment for that.

Yet, it would explain why Cain was so evil, just like good old dad.

Also, the following sentence makes you wonder:

“And the Lord God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat” (Gen 3:13).

God was obviously very angry, and would He be that mad just over eating a fruit?  It’s possible because we don’t actually understand how holy God is.  We haven’t a clue how majestic He is, but we do now it’s greater than we can imagine.

* Jesus is a “true person” though not God in flesh.

* The Holy Spirit is ‘the True Mother,’ or ‘the Second Eve.” The church denies the doctrine of the Trinity – by Lynette Schaefer
