In my opinion, Alcoholics Anonymous is a great program. There is one thing they say that I disagree with: according to their understanding I am an Alcoholic, I say I “was” a problem drinker, not an Alcoholic. To me an Alcoholic has a physical need/drive/addiction to alcohol, like a drug addict or a cigarette smoker.
