The New Age is not new, it comes from ancient times, I had talked about it in Ezekiel 47 and in James 4 when I pointed out the wickedness of Oprah, but tomorrow we’ll explain…
1 Peter 2
Christ Our Corner Stone
1 Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings,
2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:
3 If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.
4 To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious,
5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
“Lively stones” – believers are not literal pieces of rock, but are persons. In addition, they derive their life from Christ, who is the original living Stone to whom they have come.
“Spiritual house” – the house is spiritual in a metaphorical sense, but also in that it is formed and indwelt by the Spirit of God.
“Spiritual sacrifices” – the New Testament refers to a variety of offerings: bodies offered to God (Rom 12:1), offerings of money or material goods (Phil 4:18; Heb 13:16), sacrifices of praise to God (Heb 13:15) and sacrifices of doing good (Heb 13:15).
“Acceptable to God” – through the work of our Mediator, Jesus Christ. Believers are living stones that make up a spiritual temple in which, as a holy priesthood, they offer up spiritual sacrifices.
Not living bodies.
6 Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.
7 Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,
8 And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.
“Wherefore also they were appointed” – some see here an indication that some people are destined to fall and be lost.
Others say that unbelievers are destined to be lost because God in His foreknowledge saw them as unbelievers.
Still others hold that Peter means that unbelief is destined to result in eternal destruction.
I agree with the second group of people because of Eze 33:11, Jn 3:16.
9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:
“Chosen generation” – as Israel was called God’s chosen people in the Old Testament, so in the New Testament believers are designated as chosen, or elect.
“A peculiar people” – see Deut 4:20, 7:6, 14:2; Is 43:21; Mal 3:17. Though once not the people of God, they are now the recipients of God’s mercy.
10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.
Hos 1:6, 9; 2:21, 22; Rom 9:25-26. In Hosea it is Israel who is not God’s people;’ in Romans it is the Gentiles wow home Paul applies Hosea’s words.; in 1 Peter the words are applied to both.
11 Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;
12 Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.
“Good works, which they shall behold” – deeds that can be seen to be good (cf. Matt 5:16) – but don’t flaunt it.
13 Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme;
2:13-3:6 – Peter urges that Christians submit to all legitimate authorities, whether or not the persons exercising authority are believers or not.
14 Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well.
15 For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men:
“Silence the ignorance” – good citizenship counters false charges made against Christians and thus commends the gospel to unbelievers.
16 As free, and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God.
“Free” – does not authorize rebellion against constituted authority, but urges believers freely to submit to God and to earthly authorities (as long as such submission does not conflict with the law of God).
“For a cloke of maliciousness” – genuine freedom is the freedom to serve God, a freedom exercised under law. Liberty is not license to do as we please.
17 Honor all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.
“Honor all men” because every human being bears the image of God, at least until Jesus returns.
18 Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the froward.
19 For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully.
“Conscience toward God” – as submission to duly constituted authority is “for the Lord’s sake” so one will submit to the point of suffering unjustly if it is God’s will.
20 For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? But if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God.
21 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:
“Christ also suffered for us” – Christ is the supreme example of suffering evil for doing good.
22 Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:
Scripture declares the sinlessness of Christ in the clearest of terms, allowing for no exception.
23 Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:
24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
25 For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.
Can You Lose Your Salvation?
Many believe that once you are saved you cannot lose it. Don’t believe it because there is no place in the Bible that says that.
If you try and manipulate God the devil will slip in and take advantage of the opportunity and destroy you, as he did with Eve.
“Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons” (Gen 3:1-7).
Verse 7 directly above is the first sign in the Bible that mankind was doomed.
It is impossible to work God, I have years of experience in trying that.
“Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting” (Gal 6:7-8).
I’m going to give you three examples of people that lost their salvation and then at the end I will show you what the Bible says.
Billy Graham – he accepted Jesus Christ at the age of 16 (1934) and at the age of 29 he began his crusades (400 in 185 countries and territories on six continents).
Graham led a lot of people to Christ, but did he save them is the question? As the saying goes, “You can lead a horse to water but you can’t make him drink.”
I don’t know when, but somewhere down the line he began promoting the teachings of the Catholic faith which is against God and therefore salvation was not there.
It does not matter how often or how much you speak up for Jesus “IF” you also tell lies, e.g., preach the words of the Catholic faith or anything other than the absolute truth of the gospel.
For example: You buy a car which is made to run on petrol gasoline and you fill it with diesel.
If you had a gas tank full of diesel fuel, the fuel injectors in your engine would inject the diesel fuel into the engine’s cylinders. The spark plugs would fire, but nothing would happen after that.
“Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord’s table, and of the table of devils” (1 Cor 10:21).
Rick Warren – born in 1954 and began his full ministry at the age of 19 (1973). In April 1980 Warren held Saddleback Church’s first public service with 200 people in attendance.
In 1995 the current Worship Center was completed, with a seating capacity of 3,500. A multi-million dollar children’s ministry building and a staff office building were completed over the next few years.
In June 2008, a $20 million student ministry facility called the “Refinery” was completed, housing the “Wildside” middle school and “HSM” high school ministries, consisting of 1,500 students.
Saddleback Church averages nearly 20,000 people in attendance each week.
In regards to abortion, Warren says that abortions should be “rare.” So what he’s saying is, “Let’s just kill a couple babies.” Obviously assuming that would be okay with God even though God says:
“Thou shalt not kill” (Ex 20:13) – He’s talking about murder, execution due to punishment is allowed, Jesus did not change that.
In regards to same-sex marriage, it appears that Warren is against gay marriages.
Piers Morgan of CNN, asked, “Can you see a time where not just you but other Christian preachers and indeed the Catholic Church and others say, You know what? Actually, real equality means everyone has the same right to get married, gay or straight.”
The Bible is very clear when it says,
“But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear” (1 Pet 3:15).
Meaning, we are to stand up for the law of God and boldly speak in His behave.
But Warren answered the question with, “I cannot see that happening in my life. I fear the disapproval of God more than I fear your disapproval or the disapproval of society.”
That’s not the right answer, the answer is in regards to gay marriage and equality, there is no equality for the gays because it is against God.
But this is not really where Rick Warren may have lost his salvation, if he did, because he’s not speaking against God, he’s just being weak.
But he is now trying to promote a new One World Order religion known as Chrislam.
Warren is trying to bring the Christians and Muslims together, stating that we all worship the same god. That is against Jesus Christ and in the end He will say:
“Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity” (Matt 7:21-23).
Rick Warren is a Best Selling Author and I know of one of his books, “The Purpose Driven Life.” There is only a part of a small chapter that I disagree with. For I do recommend it for non-believers or new Christian.
Oprah Winfrey – I don’t know if Oprah has ever been saved, but if she was she has lost her salvation.
It doesn’t matter how good you are to people, or in regards to Oprah, let me say it doesn’t matter how well you help people as you manipulate them. If you are not with Jesus you will go to hell.
As Mark says,
“For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul?” (Mk 8:36).
Oprah is of the devil, she promoted the book, “The Secret,” by Rhonda Byrne, she endorsed Obama (a Muslim), and defies Jesus Christ trying to lead people to become members of the New Age.
Warren is in the process of destroying 20,000 souls a week. Oprah is in doing her best to destroy 7.4 million a day.
If Oprah has never been saved, and I doubt she ever was, and I understand God correctly then she can still be saved. But once you are saved and you lose it, you can’t get it back.
“For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries” (Heb 10:26-27).
“For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame” (Heb 6:4-6).
