Isaiah 29 – Doom to the City of Jerusalem & The Rosary

Finger Pointing UpWhat You said yesterday is definitely true.  I know that not only am I going to spend eternity with You, but You even take care of me here on earth.  I am living proof of Your love and mighty power.

Tomorrow we’ll look at…

1 Woe to Ariel, to Ariel, the city where David dwelt! add ye year to year; let them kill sacrifices.

29:1-2, 7 – “Ariel” – Jerusalem.  Fighting and bloodshed will turn Jerusalem into a virtual “altar hearth: (Hebrew ‘ari’el; the Hebrew for “altar hearth’ and for Ariel sound the same).  A similar Hebrew word for the same term is used in Eze 43:15.  The prophet’s warning points out that Israel’s sacrificial center is in danger of being sacrificed itself.

“Woe” – see note on 28:1.

1 Jerusalem
The Old City of Jerusalem and its surrounding walls.

“Year to year…kill sacrifices” – refers to yearly observance of the festivals.  God is going to judge Jerusalem even though the people continue to go through the motions of worship (see 1:13-14 and note on 1:14).

2 Yet I will distress Ariel, and there shall be heaviness and sorrow: and it shall be unto me as Ariel.

3 And I will camp against thee round about, and will lay siege against thee with a mount, and I will raise forts against thee.

“Forts” – siege towers pushed up to the city wall by attackers so they could fight the defenders on the same level.

4 And thou shalt be brought down, and shalt speak out of the ground, and thy speech shall be low out of the dust, and thy voice shall be, as of one that hath a familiar spirit, out of the ground, and thy speech shall whisper out of the dust.

“Whisper” – used of mediums and spiritualists in 8:19.  Judah speaks as from the realm of the dead – so much for their covenant with death (see28:15, 18).

5 Moreover the multitude of thy strangers shall be like small dust, and the multitude of the terrible ones shall be as chaff that passeth away: yea, it shall be at an instant suddenly.

29:5-8 – in God’s time, those nations that devastate Jerusalem will be devastated (see 10:5-19, 27:1).  The sudden destruction of the enemy resembles that of Assyria’s army in 701 B.C. (see 10:16 and note).

“Multitude…dust” – Israel’s many enemies will be reduced to nothing.

6 Thou shalt be visited of the LORD of hosts with thunder, and with earthquake, and great noise, with storm and tempest, and the flame of devouring fire.

“Thunder…earthquake…storm and tempest” – as in Jdg 5:4-5; Ps 18:7-15; Hab 3:3-7).

2 Earthquake
On the 3rd of April 33 AD Israel suffered a massive earthquake. This quake had been proceeded by 3 hours of darkness.
Once the darkness had passed the Moon glowed blood red. This was the first Good Friday, the day that Jesus was crucified and gave His life on the cross. This greatest act of love and salvation the world has ever known was marked by these natural events.

7  And the multitude of all the nations that fight against Ariel, even all that fight against her and her munition, and that distress her, shall be as a dream of a night vision.

8 It shall even be as when an hungry man dreameth, and, behold, he eateth; but he awaketh, and his soul is empty: or as when a thirsty man dreameth, and, behold, he drinketh; but he awaketh, and, behold, he is faint, and his soul hath appetite: so shall the multitude of all the nations be, that fight against mount Zion.

9  Stay yourselves, and wonder; cry ye out, and cry: they are drunken, but not with wine; they stagger, but not with strong drink.

29:9-14 – Isaiah speaks again of Israel’s spiritual state and warns of the Lord’s impending judgment.

“Cry ye out, and cry” – Lit. “Blind yourself and be blind.”  The prophet sarcastically commands the people to remain in their blind state because they refuse to believe that God will deliver them from their enemies.

“Drunken, but not with wine” – refers to Israel’s spiritual stupor caused by their unbelief (see 6:10 and note; cf 28:1, 7).

10 For the LORD hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep, and hath closed your eyes: the prophets and your rulers, the seers hath he covered.

Quoted in part in Rom 11:8.

“Seers” – see 1 Sam 9:9; 2 Kgs 17:13).

11 And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I cannot; for it is sealed:

“Vision of all” – the totality of Isaiah’s prophetic message (see 1:1 and note).

“I cannot” – God’s word is a closed book even to the educated.

12 And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned.

3 Idol worshiping
The Assyrians: Creepy Idol Worshipers!

13  Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honor me, but have removed their heart far from me, ad their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:

In part by Jesus to show the hypocrisy of the Pharisees (Matt 15:9).

“This people” – Not “my people” (cf 8:6, 11-12; Jer 14:10-11; Hag 1:2).

“Precept of men” – the nation leans more on human traditions than divine revelation (cf Mk 7:8-9).

14 Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvelous work among this people, even a marvelous work and a wonder: for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid.

Quoted in part in 1 Cor 1:19.

“Marvelous work and a wonder” – he who showed them wonders in the exodus (see Ex 15:11; Ps 78:12) will now them wonders in judgment.

15 Woe unto them that seek deep to hide their counsel from the LORD, and their works are in the dark, and they say, Who seeth us? and who knoweth us?

“Woe” – a new woe begins (see note on 28:1-35:10).

“Their counsel” – perhaps the alliance between Ahaz and Assyria or between Hezekiah and Egypt (see 30:1-2).

16 Surely your turning of things upside down shall be esteemed as the potter’s clay: for shall the work say of him that made it, He made me not? or shall the thing framed say of him that framed it, He had no understanding?

Quoted in part in Rom 9:20.  Cf the creation of Adam in Gen 2:17; also cf Isa 10:15.

17 Is it not yet a very little while, and Lebanon shall be turned into a fruitful field, and the fruitful field shall be esteemed as a forest?

29:17-24 – another sudden shift to the theme of redemption, as in 28:5-8.

“Lebanon” – perhaps symbolic of Assyria (see 10:34).  The forests of Lebanon were unequaled (see 2:13), so “fruitful field” represents a lesser status (see 32:!5).

18  And in that day shall the deaf hear the words of the book, and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity, and out of darkness.

4 King Ahaz
The king whose seal is impressed in this well-preserved piece of reddish-brown clay is King Ahaz of Judah, who ruled from 732 to 716 BCE.
Alas, he was not a good king: He “did not do what was right in the sight of the Lord his God, as his ancestor David had done” (2 Kings 16:2; 2 Chronicles 28:1). He worshipped idols and followed pagan practices. “He even made his son pass through fire, according to the abominable practices of the nations” (2 Kings 16:3).

“In that day” – see notes on 10:20, 27, 26:1.  Beyond the day of Assyria’s destruction lies the day of Israel’s restoration.

“Deaf hear…blind shall see” – a reversal of the stupor in vv 9-11.  This imagery is linked with the Messianic age in 35:5; contrast 6:9.

19 The meek also shall increase their joy in the LORD, and the poor among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.

20 For the terrible one is brought to nought, and the scorner is consumed, and all that watch for iniquity are cut off:

21 That make a man an offender for a word, and lay a snare for him that reproveth in the gate, and turn aside the just for a thing of nought.

“Make a man an offender…word” – use false testimony to indict.

“Turn aside the just” – to defraud; see 1:17, 9:17 and notes; see also 10:2; Amos 5:10, 12).

22 Therefore thus saith the LORD, who redeemed Abraham, concerning the house of Jacob, Jacob shall not now be ashamed, neither shall his face now wax pale.

“Redeemed” – normally used of the deliverance of Israel from Egypt (see Ex 6:6, 15:13).

“Wax pale” – from fear of the enemy.

23 But when he seeth his children, the work of mine hands, in the midst of him, they shall sanctify my name, and sanctify the Holy One of Jacob, and shall fear the God of Israel.

“Seeth his children” – cf 49:20-21, 54:1-2.  Restoration from exile may be in view (see also 53:10).

“Sanctify…fear” – see 8:13.  Isaiah’s contemporaries showed little respect for the Lord.

24 They also that erred in spirit shall come to understanding, and they that murmured shall learn doctrine.

The Devil is Hard at Work

Many people say that the Catholics were the original Christians, even the people at Wikipedia says that Jesus had personally established the Catholic Church and this is as big of a farce as one can be.  The Catholic religion is based on traditions and superstitious fairytales, like Fatima.

5 Lady Fatima
Lady Fatima is not the Virgin Mary, but the blasphemous whore from hell.

Jesus spoke against traditions:

“He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias [Isaiah] prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.

Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.

And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandments of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.

For Moses said, Honor they father and thy mother; and whoso curseth father or mother let him die the death:

But ye say, If a man shall say to his father or mother, It is Corban,* that is to say, a gift by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; he shall be free.

And ye suffer him no more to do ought for his father or his mother;

Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.

And when he called all the people unto him, he said unto them, Hearken unto me every one of you, and understand,

There is nothing from without a man that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man” (Mk 7:6-15).

* Corban – Gift particularly designated for the Lord and so forbidden of any other use.  Jesus referred to some persons who mistakenly and deliberately avoided giving needed care to their parents by declaring as “corban” any money or goods that could otherwise be used to provide such care.  Thus what began as a religious act of offering eventually functioned as a curse, denying benefit to one’s own parents.

Jesus didn’t establish the Catholic religion,

Satan did!

I think pink is a good color for Satan and anyone that follows him, no disrespect to women here, unless they follow Satan

The Rosary

The rosary is a damnable heresy, nowhere taught in the Word of God.  It is a sad thing that so many people have fallen for the Roman Catholic religion (1.2 billion according to the 2011 world census).

6 Pope
This is Pope John Paul II, and notice the tiny Jesus (you might need a magnifying glass). The Catholic Church says how great the Pope is, the “holy father.” The Bible clearly warns us in Matthew 23:9 to call no earthly man our spiritual “father.”
The Pope is the Vicar of Hell.

In the past I would sometimes use Yahoo when I had a question I needed answered because I assumed that Yahoo  made sure the answers were valid.  I won’t make that mistake anymore after reading this:

Question:  Do Catholics consider themselves Christians?

Answer: Catholics are the original Christians.  Jesus personally established the Catholic Church.  One can know this for sure by praying the rosary regularly.

The following pink colored sentences come from catholicity.com. titled “The Fifteen Promises of the Rosary.  I chose the color pink because it’s weak and dainty, just like the Catholics and Satan.  Do not misunderstand me, I don’t hate people that have been fooled into believing in the Catholic religion, I pity them and pray for them.  It is the devil and the child molesting Popes and priests that I despise and see as weak losers.

Our Lady made these promises to Christians who faithfully pray the Rosary:

1.  To all those who shall pray my Rosary devoutly, I promise my special protection and great graces.

It sounds great, but what is the “special protection” and what are the “great graces.”   The Rosary belongs to Mary, so where does God fit into the picture?

The Catholics are like drug addicts, they need to do whatever is necessary to get their fix.  They’re consumed by their greed and to accomplish their task of becoming wealthy they teach lies, as the devil does:

“Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do.  He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him.  When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar and the father of it” (Jn 8:44).

Go to a Catholic service and you’ll see that Mary is exalted to the heavens, but what does the Bible say concerning this heathen practice?

“Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:

That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth” (Phil 2:9-10).

No Mary mentioned there, or anywhere in the Bible.  The Bible teaches that ONLY the name of Jesus Christ should be exalted, for there is NO salvation in any other name:

“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).

2.  Those who shall persevere in the recitation of my Rosary will receive some special grace.

There is absolutely nothing in the Bible teaching such foolishness.  God never instructs us to recite anything; on the contrary, God condemns such practices:

“But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking” (Matt 6:7).

Catholicism is as heathen as can be.  It comes straight from the pits of hell.  Don’t be deceived by the double-talk of Catholics.  In one breath they admit that Mary is not the way to heaven, yet as you will read in promise # 5 below, they do teach that praying the rosary to Mary guarantees heaven.  God does not play Word Games like Catholics do; God said what He meant, and we had better listen to Him or else.

3.  The Rosary will be a very powerful armor against hell; it will destroy vice, deliver from sin and dispel heresy.

7 Rosary
Rosary – a Sin pointed at God
The Holy Rosary, also known as the Dominican Rosary, refers to a form of prayer used in the Catholic Church and to the string of knots or beads used to count the component prayers. When used for the prayer, the word is usually capitalized (“the Rosary”), as is customary for other names of prayers, such as “the Lord’s Prayer”, and “the Hail Mary”; when referring to the beads, it is written with a lower-case initial letter (“a rosary”).

Do you really believe that counting 59 beads and a cross on a rosary is going to accomplish anything other than wasting your time?   Jesus never taught any such nonsense.  The Bible never teaches us to count beads or pray a rosary.  Jesus taught us how to pray:

“After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver u from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever.  Amen” (Matt 6:9-13).

Jesus said, “After this manner therefore pray ye…” Jesus didn’t tell us exactly what to pray, but He taught us in what “manner” to pray.  Maybe I’m missing something because I certainly don’t see anything about  a hail Mary.

God wants us to adore Him, to worship His good and perfect name so He can adore His creation, US.  God wants us to seek the kingdom of God and His will for you first:

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you” (Matt 6:33 – see vs 6:25-33)

God wants us to be repentant, humble, and forgiving of others.  He wants us to pray to avoid temptation (to walk in the Spirit).  God wants us to brag on Him and boast about His greatness and power.  If you boil this prayer all down into simplest form, you basically have 2 things:

God is everything, and we desperately need God.

Roman Catholics foolishly and sinfully add Mary to the list.  God will not accept any worship that includes Mary or anyone else.

Also, praying the rosary can’t dispel heresy because it is heresy itself.  The Bible teaches that heresy is exposed by shining the light of God’s Word upon the darkness (Ps 119:105)

The Bible is a “lamp” unto our feet to light the path.  God’s Holy Spirit is our guide to “guide us into all truth” (Jn 16:13).  If a doctrine doesn’t fit within the parameters of the Bible, then it is heresy.

If you don’t like this, then it is only because you do not believe the Bible.  Praying the rosary, however you want to do it will only accomplish two things:

1. Upset God and

2. Buy you a one way ticket to hell.

4.  The rosary will make virtue and good works flourish, and will obtain for souls the most abundant divine mercies.  It will draw the hearts of men from the love of the world and its vanities, and will lift them to the desire of eternal things.  Oh, that souls would sanctify themselves by this means.

Jesus even prayed to God for us, for Him to sanctify us in truth:

9 Bad Neighborhood
“Pick up the pace, this is a bad neighborhood.”

“Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth” (Jn 17:17).

It is the Word of God that sanctifies us (sets us apart “from” the world and “to” God).  Catholicism elevates the rosary above the Word of God.  The rosary cannot sanctify you.

How can you be sanctified by repeating a bunch of vain repetitions?  The term “hail Mary” is not even mentioned once in the Bible.

5.  Those who trust themselves to me through the Rosary will not perish.

This is one of the most blasphemous statements ever spoken.  Jesus clearly said:

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (Jn 3:16).

You can pray a million rosaries and trust Our Lady of Fatima (Mary) with all your heart, but you will go straight to hell when you die and face the judgments of God.

God sent His Son into the world to pay the price, the ransom, for our many sins.  Jesus Christ has made salvation available to all men, all you need to do is to forsake your false religion, and place 100% of your faith in Christ alone, not the Great Whore of Catholicism.

By the way, Mary (Jesus’ mother) is not the great Whore, Mary of the Roman catholic church is the Great Whore.   Roman Catholicism has created a monster out of Mary that is all a big lie.

False doctrines such as “the assumption of Mary, “the “Immaculate Conception of Mary,” and Mary’s “Perpetual Virginity” are fictitious lies of the devil nowhere found in the Bible, not in the true Bible, the Catholics have their own bible.

6.  Whoever recites my Rosary devoutly reflecting on the mysteries, shall never be overwhelmed by misfortune.  He will not experience the anger of God nor will he perish by an unprovided death.  The sinner will be converted; the just will persevere in grace and merit eternal life.

Talk about a flame-broiled whopper!  This is extreme Catholic blasphemy against a Holy God.  No sinner will ever be converted by reciting the rosary!

“Never be overwhelmed with misfortune”?  Again, it sounds great but it’s simply NOT true, Catholics suffer from misfortune just like all other human beings do.  We live in a fallen world and suffering is simply a part of this temporal life, Christian or not.

The ONLY hope of salvation is through Jesus Christ ALONE:

“And this is the will of him that sent me, that everyone which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day” (Jn 6:40).

Being a Christian doesn’t necessarily make life any easier, but it does make life better because you have the Lord Jesus Christ by your side all the time, unless you are a Christian Catholic, then you have the devil on your side.

At what point did Mary become a superstar?  It surely didn’t happen in the Bible.

10 Priest
Pedophile Priests

Roman Catholics and even Lutherans disgracefully elevate Mary to extreme levels NOT taught anywhere in the Scriptures.  Mary was a sinful, but virtuous, human being who was graciously chosen by God to be used as a vessel to bring Christ into the world.

Mary has no special position or recognition with God.  Mary is NOT the “mother of God,” God has no mother.

Mary was the mother of the man Jesus Christ, but the incarnate Godhead has no mother.  Jesus Christ had NO earthly father, but was conceived by a miracle of the Holy Spirit of God.

Mary was a good and respectable woman, but she was still a hell-deserving sinner, just like any other virtuous lady who is a child of God.

7.  Those truly devoted to my Rosary shall not die without the sacraments of the Church.

Can’t you see that the Vatican wrote this garbage?  Fatima is a big Hoax!  The Catholic religion is raking in billions upon billions of dollars from foolish people who are following the Unbiblical traditions of men.

So now Mary is telling you that you need the sacraments if you really mean business, and if you don’t mean business then you have no guarantee of heaven.

8.  Those who are faithful to recite my Rosary shall have during their life and at their death the light of God and the plenitude of His graces and will share in the merits of the blessed.

Have you ever heard a Catholic priest encourage anyone to study the Bible for themselves?  The Bible is the BIGGEST ENEMY of the Roman Catholic Church because it speaks of truth, it speaks of Jesus.

9.  I will deliver promptly from purgatory souls devoted to my Rosary.

There is NO such teaching as purgatory in the Bible.  The foolish rich man in Luke 16 died without Christ and went straight to hell to suffer in torment.

Jesus never said it was a parable (as He always did when He told a parable).  Literal names were used (Lazarus, Abraham).  It wasn’t a “certain man” in a “certain  place,” the details were specific.

We must accept the account as real.  There is no teaching in the Bible of a temporal place of punishment.

10. True children of my Rosary will enjoy great glory in heaven.

11. What you shall ask through my Rosary you shall obtain.

12. To those who propagate my Rosary I promise aid in all their necessities.

The above three promises of Our Lady of Fatima (Mary) are nonsense not found in the Bible.  Jesus told us to pray in His name to the Father, no mention is ever made of Mary.

Where in the world did the Catholic religion ever come up with this stuff from?  I’ll tell you where, the devil.

12 Money is evilAre the manmade doctrines of the early Catholic Fathers to be accepted as superior to the Word of God?  The Vatican believes so

It’s sickening that so many millions of people are starving to death around the world while the Vatican is decked out in the finest of precious ornaments, decoration, and priestly garb.

While the priests are drinking from cups made of pure gold, children in many nations are drinking muddy water from rivers where animals and people defecate.

“Promise” # 12 above says that Mary will “aid in all their necessities.” I wonder how many little children who are starving have been fed by Catholicism’s Mary.

It’s obvious to any sensible person Catholicism takes in much more money than it gives out.  Our Lady of Fatima is a liar!

13. I have obtained from my Son that all the members of the Rosary Confraternity shall have as their intercessors, in life and in death, the entire celestial court.

14. Those who recite my Rosary faithfully are my beloved children, the brothers and sisters of Jesus Christ.

15. Devotion to my Rosary is a special sign of predestination.

Again, there is no scriptural support for the above lies. Devotion to the rosary is a sign of spiritual blindness and misguided faith, nothing else.  Those who recite the rosary are worshipping God in vain, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men:

“He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias [Isaiah] prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.

Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.  For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.

And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition” (Mk 7:6-9).

Jesus never taught to recognize Mary in any way. God never asked us to recognize Mary in any way.  Mary didn’t even exist in the Old Testament, but the Babylonian false god, the “Queen of Heaven,” existed (Jer 7:18;44:17-19,25)

Catholics even refer to Mary as the “Queen of Heaven.”

Mary is not a mediator between us and God as the Catholics have made her to be.  The Bible clearly teaches that there is only One Mediator between God and man, the Lord Jesus Christ:

11 Birth Control
Birth Control

“For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus” (1 Tim 2:5).

The whole basis of the damnable Catholic teaching on asking Mary to pray for us is that she is very dear and precious to God.  No one has special privileges with God.

The Lutherans and Catholics both believe that God could not come to the earth incarnate without obtaining Mary’s permission first.  Talk about blasphemy!

Isn’t it interesting that the “blessed virgin” of Catholicism is also called the “Queen of Heaven” by the Catholic church itself.

Jesus said,

“Ye worship ye know not what…” (Jn 4:22)

Catholics have no idea what they are worshipping, they say it’s “God,” while idolizing Mary in every way.

Mary is praised with over 2,226 words in every rosary prayer.  Every rosary prayer!  It is total blasphemy against God Almighty!  God clearly said:

“I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images” (Isa 42:8).

Even in the commonly referred to “Lord’s Prayer” (which is really the “disciples prayer”), Jesus taught us to recognize God, and God alone:

“For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen” (Matt 6:13).

Don’t be deceived, if it’s wrong to worship the angels, then it is also wrong to worship a human being like Mary:

“Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind” (Col 2:18).

The Roman Catholic religion is a conglomerate of manmade traditions, hoaxes, false religions, and even many Christian teachings all mingled into one…but it certainly is not Christian.

The devil is a master counterfeiter (2 Cor 11:13-14).  Satan always disguises his deceits and lies with elements of truth to deceive the masses.

If you want to go to heaven you must be born again.  What does it mean to be born again?

“There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:

The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.

13 Jesus Christ is the only key to God.

“Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old?  Can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born?

Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it goeth: so is everyone that is born of the Spirit” (John 3:1-7).
